Behind the magic of the Jungle Cruise

Just thought a few may find this video of behind the magic of the jungle cruise of interest (apologies if seen before). The guide talks you through the ride and explains some of the secrets and interesting trivia about this classic attraction. One thing he says and I'm not sure if he's joking or not, is about the squirting elephants. Apparently they use lasers to sense the boats to make sure the passengers don't get squirted with water, however when it rains this messes with those sensors and he claims in this scenario passengers can get a blast of water from the elephant's trunks?

Anyhow please enjoy.

Looks like someone took a video of that portion of Keys to the Kingdom. Isn't that a "no no"? ;)

I honestly have no idea but after you said it I just searched youtube for 'keys to the kingdom tour disney world' and found this. It's 35 minutes long and includes the Jungle Cruise and yet the host seems to have no problem with it being taped?

Interesting. Maybe the video of JC is allowed because you're not strictly "backstage," although it does give away secrets. We were told in no uncertain terms on both Keys and UnDISCOVERed, no photos/videos in backstage areas. This video confirms that. It's of the tour guide while on Main Street and JC with "This is all we were allowed to film"...

Ah, that would make sense. Always fancied doing a tour though unfortunately I fear there'd be too much walking at fast speed for me to keep up comfortably, so it looks like that's out for me now.

I had this same fear!! Mostly because I'm a very fast walker and my fiance is a strolling-along kind of guy. But when we did the Marceline to the Magic Kingdom tour, it was so comfortable. You have a little ear piece so you can walk pretty far behind and at a slower pace and still hear what's going on. It definitely helps that most of these tours take place in the morning, so you're not being lost in the crowd. I think you should definitely give it a try :)

Correct, you don't have to walk fast to keep within earshot. Although, they don't want you lingering behind either.

I'll have a think about it and thanks. The thing is I have dystonia which effects my walking, sometimes I need to stop for a few minutes to rest and I fear this is where it would cause problems. For instance some days I can't make the MK entrance to the castle without stopping whilst other days I can do it easily, it just depends what mood my leg is in on that particular day.

I'm sure they allow scooters/wheelchairs. The two rides they go on are JC and HM. While they do eat on the 2nd floor of Columbia Harbor House, there is an elevator. We took the stairs down into the utilidors but there is likely to be an elevator as well.
