I was wondering if anyone could help me out... What attraction was housed where AE is now.(or stitch i suppose) Wasn't it some kind of Space shuttle ride? I just vaguely remember riding in something like that...and I'm pretty sure it was where Stich is now in MK. Anyone remember this???

that and timekeeper had a similar thought between both one was mission to mars i can't think of the other one right now but that was where aec was and it had the same room concept so that was why now for 3 rides its never truly changed too much.

AE was Mission to Mars, a clone of mission to the moon from Disneyland. SIR preshow was the mission control area. Then everyone got into the show room which was the rocket. You could view the progress of your trip throught the windows of the craft. (the two oval screens that show the video signal in AE).

Time keeper was the Circlevision 360 theater. For the life of me I can't remember what it showed but it was something about America. Similar to O'Canada or Reflections of China at Epcot.

right Ae or AEC like i will always call alien encounter was mission to mars which was the not so weakened title of flight to the moon.

Time Keeper was 5 different shows: America the Beautiful from DL
was first then MAgic Carpet around the world in 74 America the beautiful updated 75-79 Magic Carpet updated 79 to 84 American journeys 84 and i guess that failed just like the above because no sooner than 82 did we welcome Epcot to WDW family along with the American Adventure

ive heard numerous times that when they opened the ae building (TICC) that it was originally called mission to the moon. we then landed on the moon and the ride was thus outdated. it then became mission to mars and then ae. has anyone else heard this?

That's correct. Except, well, we landed on the moon in 1969; "Flight to the Moon" opened in 1971 and closed in 1975.

FACT: Mr. Tom Morrow (the host of Flight to the Moon) has a nod in the current Tomorrowland Transity Authority. :)

Yep. And it's a good thing they took the Mars part out now as well after this past week! :D

. . . too late. We now have Mission: SPACE.

Well I guess that's going to have to change now huh? Just change narration and the color of the planet in M:S to blue and call it Neptune. It will be a while before NASA gets there I'm sure.

There are 2 other Tom Morrows...

One is at EPCOT Innoventions (small little robot) who once hosted Disney's Imagineer That! (back when Disney Channel was good and all. . . )

AND at Disneyland, I've never seen him - but at Innoventions, there is a Timekeeper-looking Animatronic who bears the same name. :)

Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow. Your party from Saturn has arrived. Please give them a ring!

aaah, yes! i remember him now! it's been so long since my cable company did away with The Disney Channel that i forgot! :hammer: but since he came after the redo of TL, i just figured he was a spin-off of the TTA spiel.
thanks for the reminder! :D

GOOD RIDDANCE.

lol! well, it was still half way decent right when they took it off. though, i think the downfall of the Disney Channel started with Zoog Disney...but that's just me. are the Zoogs even still around? anyway, right after the cable company took DC away, my fave show (So Weird) went to the birds with the departure of the main girl (i don't even remember her name now) though, that show was never really the same after Erik von Detton left...course, i think he came back after my Disney Channel was replaced with HBO Family.
speaking of HBO Family...i kinda resented it at first because i could only see it as a replacement of my Disney Channel. but i love their original show called Crash Box; and they play some pretty darn good movies on there...commercial free at that! ahhh, remember the good ol' days when Disney used to show stuff commercial free?

Ahhh..Is that not the voice of Max Casella?
For those who don't know, Max Casella was also the voice of Zini in Dinosaur (The movie), and he played Barberelli in "Sgt. Bilko" and was also Doogie Howser's sidekick if im not mistaken
