Now that The Adventurer's Club is no more; can someone shed some light on how Beezle, the genie's disembodied floating head, effect was accomplished ?

Perhaps it's a lot simpler than it appears, as I never really got close enough to really investigate. :shrug:

Mirror with a hole cut in it for the actor to put his head inside the "lamp" I guess you would call it. At least, that's how I always figured it. Have it able to slide around behind the wall in order to move the head around the cabinet.

Ahhh...OK. So the mirror is larger than what you actually see in the cabinet, so that when the "lamp" moves left/right/up/down the other parts of the mirror come into sight disguising the fact that the lamp is attached to the mirror.

Just keep the fingerprints off the mirror.

Precisely. I believe the mirror under the shelf was static, only what you see above the shelf was movable. (if you looked closely, you could see that the mirror above was deeper in the cabinet than the one below) I wish I could get a look at the counterweight system they used to allow it to move so easily.

If you sat close to the wall, you could hear the mirror move around. It must be quite heavy, so there are counterweights for sure.

If I remember correctly, Beezle was played by the actor who was playing Hathaway Brown that night.
