This is THE moment we've all been waiting for, the grand unveiling of Beauty and the Beast Castle from the Magic Kingdom theme park in my proposed Disney theme park resort! I finished this drawing last night, and just posted this to my photoalbum a few minutes ago. Here is the URL to the long-awaited drawing of Beauty and the Beast Castle! (drum roll please!): :D

Beauty and the Beast Castle is modeled largely after Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, but with a many original features and designs included as well. For example, the domed ballroom on the left-hand side, which was taken directly from the 1991 movie, was added to the castle where the mountain/hill is located next to DLP's castle. Also, the middle portion of the castle behind the entranceway roof was raised one story higher and an elaborate window pane similar to the one on Cinderella Castle at WDW and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland was placed on the new top story (this window pane actually came from Mad Ludwig's Castle in Neuschwanstein, Germany, which Disneyland's castle was directly modeled after). The big tower was also raised higher to keep the castle in its correct proportion, and a second observation balcony was placed near the top of the big tower as well (both Disneyland's and WDW's castles have two balconies on their big towers). I also placed a clock where DLP's Castle has some kind of window-like structure on the entranceway roof.

The castle's height was calculated as approximately 160 feet in height-- roughly halfway between the heights of Cinderella Castle at WDW (180 feet) and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris (142 feet). The color scheme is basically the same as DLP's Castle, with the notable exceptions of the lower balcony on the big tower, the winding staircase at the bottom of the big tower, and the balcony on top of the ballroom rotunda; which will be gold-colored to make the castle different from DLP's as well as fancier and more fairytale-ish/unreal looking. A good pic of DLP's Castle for a comparision can be found at:

If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post! I really look forward to hearing from you! :)

Great Drawing! The only thing I don't like is how much the top spire looks like Sleeping Beauty Castls. Perhaps a tweak and the deletion of the round window thing at the top would make in perfect. :sohappy:

Kent, that is amazing! Wow! Did you just draw it? Wow!

Yes, for the most part, I did draw this freehand! However, I did trace a few outlines of areas from a pic of DLP's castle, mainly to get the shape and size to scale, and I used a ruler to help with drawing straight lines. But for the most part, I drew my castle almost entirely freehand! :D

I actually thought about that myself! I am considering a large window pane, rectangular with a curved top, to replace the round window-like object. This window, if I ever use this, will stretch from the top below the elaborate deisgn to the top balcony on the big tower.

How does that sound to you? :)

How long did that take you to draw?
Because it is truly amazing!

It took about 2 or 3 days to draw, but that doesn't include earlier sketches or drafts-- which were like practice drawings for the most part.

How this answers your question, and I'm glad you enjoyed my drawing of B&TB Castle! :)
