Beaches and Cream Closed or Open?

Hi All
I was just wondering if Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club is still open? I have heard that it has become a marketplace. My Sister In Law was reading a 2006 planning book (not sure the name of it) and it did not list Beaches and Cream.

Yep. We ate lunch there about a month ago. The new Marketplace is actually in the Beach Club Gift Shop. They have added a good selection of light fare that you pay for at the Gift Shop checkout counter. Their breakfast stuff is pretty good and a lot cheaper than eating in the restaurant.

I've got the same book, Birnbaums. IT'S WRONG. In our last vacation in June, we always got milkshakes at Beaches and Cream (in between the two resorts) and gelato at the Beach Club Marketplace (which is closer to Epcot than the Yacht Club, in Beach Club lobby).

Birnbaums also thinks Ohana has the same menu. :(

Slightly OT...we have the Disney Dining Experience card and made a special trip to BC to go to Beaches and Cream. We ordered at the counter (after about a 20 minute wait in line) and then were told that our DDE card was only good on the other side of the restaurant. We would only get a discount if we sat down at a table. :fork: It was the same staff serving the same items, but we got to pay full price because we weren't in a chair.

Oh, well...

As already stated, Beaches and the Cream, which serves the best burgers and ice cream at WDW, is still very much around.

What you're probably referring to is the gift store that was within the Beach Club. I can't think of the name, but to the left of the lobby was strictly a gift shop. Earlier this year it went under an extensive rehab and it reopened as a cross between a gift shop and a marketplace serving to-go type food items.

Oh, well...

Thats incorrect. The DDE card does work at B&C, even sitting at the counter. I used it the day before yesterday. Of corurse i was sitting down at the counter, and not in the "to-go" line.

Also... CM's do not get their discount there, but DDE does. ONe of the few places that happens.

I think what that person meant was the walk-up line. It isn't allowed there. Sit down counter and table do accept DDE....just not the walk-up counter.
