beach club

can anyone give me their opinion of the beach club? we will be staying there in mid august. i recently read that in oct the rooms were scheduled to be refurbished. does that mean that they are not in good condition now? are there any rooms or areas of the resort that we should ask for? we are traveling with three other families and hope that our rooms will be near each other. thanks for any help u can give.

Beach Clubi s great, but hopfully EPCOT wont lose there power again and the AC will be out for 24 hours!

We stayed at the beach club last year and the yacht club last week. Here is my opinion. There are no planned activities for kids (considering this is a deluxe resort). They do have the sandcastle club for paid childcare. They have an arcade and beaches and cream soda shop , (a hit with kids). I don't think its fair they charge you to rent tubes at stormalong bay. Stormalong Bay is like Fort Knox. Show your id to get access and a towel etc. Good things are direct boat access to MGM, Boardwalk and Epcot and access to water sports - water sprites,fishing trips etc. I don't know if Captain Al is still there but he is a great cast member and greeter. My kids loved him. My 3 DS also enjoy the chess and checker sets available to play on the in room table.
