Thinking about possibly staying there for the 1st time next year, as it would be less expensive than the Boardwalk Villas. Stayed at the Yacht Club a few years back and didn't care for it, though the Beach Club looked much more our speed. How far a walk are the Villas from the Beach Club lobby? Do you feel far removed from the rest of the resort?

Kidd, I stayed here last year... they are a separate building the walk isn't bad at all. It's like 30 seconds, tops. My room at the Poly was wayyyy further from the Main House (Tahiti) than the BCV are from the main lobby.

The rooms are ok man, I mean... you are paying for the convenience of the epcot loop. It's just a room.

Thanks - Appreciate the reply!

I really prefer the feel of the Boardwalk, but can get a much better deal at the BCV. Rooms seem at least nice as the Boardwalk Villa rooms. Shower even seems a bit bigger.

Yeah, I mean... the way I see the BCV is simple, you want the convenience of walking to DHS and Epcot, enjoy the restaurants and shops around the resort areas and want to accommodate a larger party. Other than that it's no great shakes.

don't get me wrong, it's still an awesome area but I went in originally thinking the room would be amazing for the mint price we paid, but it's really just a room. I really appreciate it when I drank around the world and there was no bus ride for me, just a stagger home.

LOL - Yeah, that's a big plus.

See, I really like all the 1 bedroom villas. Love having the extra bedroom and big shower, plus washer/dryer.

We just stayed there in march. Nice resort...make sure you take some time out to enjoy a movie by the beach. Lots of fun. The one thing I really didn't like about it was that there was no storage at the bathroom sink area(in studios..not sure about larger villas). Some may find this not an issue, but when we travel, there is my DH, and our two daughters, so bathroom storage is a must for us. That being said, I'm still a boardwalk girl.

We love Beach Club (1 Home Resort of 2) because:

  • We were at one of the last rooms, but not a long walk. In fact there are side doors all along the corridors.
  • As mentioned in a previous post-the smell is wonderful-very beachy. Weird I know.
  • Open and airy atmosphere.
  • Easy to get to EPCOT. You can take boats to DHS - although we walk. Even in the heat of the day, it is not bad and we always outwalk the ferry.
  • Easy walk to Boardwalk for its amenities.
  • On the bus route, get off at the Swan/Dolphin stop (whichever is first). Just walk through their lobby and you are right at the end of the boardwalk around the Yacht Club-lots faster than staying on the bus.
  • The kitchens (1 bedroom and above) are more spacious. I think rooms are bigger also.
  • Cape May has a nice dinner buffet. And Beaches and Cream has a good burger and the Kitchen Sink is a must try at least once-BUT, not with a meal!
  • And of course, the pool is wonderful-even as an Adult, I love the whirlpool area.

I stayed in a studio in January. Mine was right by the elevator...so right down the elevator and across the path to the Beach Club Lobby (as a PP mentioned, they are separate buildings).

In this picture I'm standing on the path that connects the building looking toward the resort side (specifically the Solarium) with my back to the villas entrance:

Then turned around looking back at the villas entrance:

There's also a covered walkway you can take from the villas...you enter the resort right by the Beach Club Marketplace:

Personally, I did feel removed from the resort, but that's just me, I guess. I prefer the Boardwalk, mostly because I have a lot of sentimental attachment to the place and like the decor and atmosphere better. BCV was nice though.

Not sure if all the 1 bedrooms have this, but there's 2 things I like better about the bathrooms (from the pics and videos I've seen):

1.The shower is slightly larger than the one at Boardwalk. Looks to be the same size as the one at Wilderness Lodfe Villas.
2.The toilet has it's own room with a door. That's a nice feature.

Boardwalk does have a great feel to it but I personally prefer the secluded feel that BeachClub can provide. I love the walk around to BoardWalk from Beach Club. I found a somewhat larger image that better lays out the Villa vs Cash rooms.

In an overall Earth map you can see the walk is not all that bad. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=disne...isney+beach+club+resort&radius=15000&t=h&z=17

Good move switching to the Beach Club. By going through the seller I normally use, I saved over $900. She said she would check on the Boardwalk at 7 months, but I think I'm gonna stick with Beach Club. Nice to try someplace different. My feeling is, the Boardwalk is only a 5 minute walk, plus, we get to use Stormalong Bay. While I don't care about it, my kids love it.

Did you stay in a studio? The reason I ask is it seems common when someone stays in a hotel or a studio it may be suggested that they would prefer to save money because they only sleep in their room but they never compare it to a 1 Bedroom and up which to me isn't a fair comparison.

I suspect that those that stay in a 2 Bedroom and up are less likely to say it is just a room because it is really more of a home away from home. So to provide feedback on the 'Beach Club Villas' and say it is just a room but base your feedback on the smallest room in the whole place really isn't fair.

To the original OP. We have stayed at the BCV in 1 and 2 Bedroom villas and they are GREAT!

it is just a room... WDW resorts are about convenience in the realm of Deluxes. You pay to be able to walk to Epcot, the BW, avoid sticky bus situations, and stick with certain clientele.

But to people who say their rooms are amazing... hardly. The Ritz is cheaper and exponentially a greater room and it's right down the road, but it doesn't have the magic of Disney.

Just my opinion but I disagree on the just a room part. Not on the Ritz part as I have never stayed there. Nor have I stayed in a true Deluxe Hotel before besides a 'Disney Deluxe'.

Our family of (4) stayed in a Dedicated 2 Bedroom Beach Club Villa in June for a week. It was about 1,100 square feet with two full baths and the Master Bathroom was huge with a very nice jacuzzi that I used 3 or 4 times. It included multiple balconies and a nice King sized bed in the Master Bedroom. It was very spacious and beautifully themed with a great view of impecible landscaping. We loved the quiet pool and very much enjoyed Storm Along Bay. The camp fires, movies on the beach, pool games, slide, sand bottom pool were great. Cape May Cafe was very good and Beaches and Cream was excellent.

Being greeted by name as we pulled into the resort was a nice touch. Having a Washer and Dryer was just icing on the cake and a very big plus from our perspective. The full fridge helped with my protein shakes/soy milk and leftovers from all the great places we ate.

I would not describe where we stayed at as just a room.

considering WHAT YOU PAID PER NIGHT you should get that, again... it's just a room. I have a hard time when people are like wow, this room was amazing with X and Y and Z and yet you paid 800 dollars a night for the room.

I paid about $240 per night if you consider 12.5% tax that others pay when they pay cash. 350 points total at 5.50 per point minus 12.5% tax to get a fair comparison to a posted room rate.

At $240 per night, this 'villa' was extremely amazing.

My opinion.

My original post was just pointing out that the OP was asking for feedback on the Beach Club Villas. The Beach Club Villas include only 36 Studios but 98 1 and 2 Bedroom villas that can be argued as being nothing close to just a room.

Not a big deal it is just that if the feedback is based on the smallest accomodation for the room that represents far less than half of the accomodations in the resort, the studio part is an important piece of providing good feedback to the OP.

I see many ask about BLT and there will be folk that say the 'rooms are small'. Well yes, the studios are small but to say the rooms are small is not giving the OP good feedback.

Again, not a big deal but I believe that if you are describing a small portion of a resort and using that as leverage to suggest that the place is not all that great, that is not a fair assessment at all.
