Beach Club standard room advice

Following the pool closure at WL, we have ended up switching our trip to Beach Club. I'm sad we won't be nearer MK in a way, but can't believe our luck staying at BC as it was always way out of price range! We will only be in a standard room though, so I was wondering which rooms would be best to request, and what to try & steer clear of.
Thanks! :)

Whatever you do, make sure you're not in a hospitality suite on the second floor that is directly above the lobby. The room layout is funky and there are no balconies at all. We were originally placed there during a conference and promptly requested a room change. The other thing is that you are unlikely to get a specific room, so if you get to your room bad don't like it, explain to the front desk what you don't like and ask to be changed. If I were you I'd pay the extra couple of bucks to get a garden view if available.

request the wing on the Epcot side near the quiet pool. THere is a Side door that goes out right onto the path that leads to the international Gateway.

I've walked that path numerous trips and always wondered if you can enter and exit the doors, can be locked & unlocked from the outside.

We have booked rooms with a standard or garden view at YC at least a half dozen times and only once did not get a view if the water. Two of these trips were over Christmas as well. In fact, this past Christmas, we were given a resort map and told to pick a room. The CM told us we had a great room already so we stayed with it. He was right! I'm not sure how it would work at BC, but it never hurts to ask for a pool or water view room at check in. Best of luck.
