Beach Club Resort & Beach Club Villas Refurb?

It is my understanding that the Beach Club Resort has been undergoing refurbishment and it is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

I was wondering about the Beach Club Villas, though. I read somewhere that the villas we're going to be refurbished between May and December of this year. When I contacted someone through the Disney website chat, however, she told me that no refurbishments to the villas had even been announced. I think I'm quite confused! Can anyone here help straighten me out?! I have a family trip planned for June 2016 at the villas and I want to make sure I'm not walking into a nightmare situation, especially for the rate we are paying!

Thanks so much in advance!

For whatever reason, there seems to be very little information about this refurb of the villas, especially the timing. Apparently, nobody can even confirm that it has started yet. I'll be there in December, a week after the scheduled completion date.

I've seen where people who are staying at BCV in the fall have received letters indicating that work will be occurring during their stay. I haven't received such a letter, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The Spring Disney Files magazine for DVC owners stated that the refubs for the villas started in March, and was expected to run only through the end of June. So it has been officially announced, and may already be completed. This was NOT a total room gut and redo, but only the following:
The major in-room modifications include new furniture, carpet, flooring, curtains, linens and stainless steel appliances. Upgrades to the electrical system will add USB charging stations and additional electrical outlets to the villas. Deluxe Studio villas are being expanded to accommodate 5 guests with the addition of a fold-down sleeper.
Since there aren't that many units, it could easily have taken just a few months to perform the changes.

So why would you think you would be walking into a "nightmare" situation???? Oh, and please remember that since they are DVC units, the Disney website will have VERY limited information.

Well, especially when paying $1300 a night, I wouldn't want a vacation surrounded by construction equipment and workers and noise. To me, that would constitute a nightmare.

The only way to pay that much is for a 2 bedroom over Christmas, and you said you were going in June. And as I mentioned, since it is not a gut job where they are tearing down walls and such, even when the refurb was happening, I doubt anybody even noticed, except to see people carrying supplies to the room.

Unless you are speaking of the Beach Club Resort rooms, and NOT the DVC section. 2 totally different areas and refurbs.

I'm speaking of the villas in June. And yes, I'm talking about a 2-bedroom, which is almost $1300 Per night with taxes.

Interestingly none of these were done in the 1 bedroom villa we stayed in. Was it just studios getting an update?

First, when were you there? The studios are getting the extra bed in the living room. Unless something has gone wrong, they should have been completely finished by the end of June. I guess I'm wondering, how can you tell that it wasn't done?

We were there 8/2-8/8, again staying in a 1 bedroom and not a studio. No stainless appliances, tile/flooring same as always (Definitely not new) holes in the wall in bathroom and furniture exactly same as they always have been.

Well that sucks, since it should have been completed by now!

I follow a thread on another forum about this refurb. Only a few villas were refurbished this year. All further work has been put on hold and Disney isn't saying when it will start again.
Was any explanation given as to why the refurb at the villas was put on hold? Seems weird that they would start the project and then just stop it before completion.
