Beach Club Pool Question

We will be staying at the Beach Club using DVC points in March. This is our first time staying there. I know the use of Stormalong Bay is very restricted so I want to know if we can have our five year old granddaughter join us in the pool and pool area. She is not staying with us so she is not on the room reservation - she lives nearby with her mother. Her mother will not be joining us.

So my first question is can our granddaughter join us for swimming as our guest?

And if not my second question is could she swim there in my place if only she and my wife went to the pool?

Either option would work for us as I don't swim anyway.

Thanks!

You will be fine. The disney pool police aren't going to kick your granddaughter out if she doesn't have her MB on. As long as you or your wife have yours, you will be set. If they say anything just say she hates to wear the band. You will be fine! Have fun with your granddaughter!

I had a friend spend two days with us at Poly during my last stay.

To be on the safe side, all you have to do is notify them that you will have a guest. I called and had it notated on my reservation. When my friend arrived they gave her a parking pass and a key card- just no charging benefits.

I don't know how it works with a child, but it may be wise to call and explain. Your granddaughter will definitely be allowed to swim with you, just better to have things straight ahead of time just in case someone at the pool sends you to the front desk.

Technically no, she would not be allowed to swim with you as the pools are for registered Guests only and not Guests of Registered Guests. However they will not say anything regarding a five year old swimming with her grandparents. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Maybe it's because it's only myself and my son who travel together, but in my case, which I am doing again this year, it was very simple to "add a guest" to a portion of my stay, at no charge. This time I have someone coming for a day or 2, and I have a cabana rented at the pool and she will be joining us. If I had another adult in the room, or a party of 4, then it may be different..but in the OP's case it sounds like only two travelers as well.

as long as you don't go above the maximum occupancy of the room, you can add any guest to a reservation you like. However if you have 2 adults in the room already and add another adult it's a fee per night for the additional adult. At a Deluxe Resort it's $25 per night.

That makes sense.

The only 'snag' we hit was when I originally called to add her, the phone rep added her to our entire vacation. I got hit with quite a shock when I looked at my disney experience. 7 day tickets, DDP for 9 nights, all added to my account...it took a lonnnngggg phone call with several transfers to be able to fix it. I think it was just the CM who made a mistake, at least that's what the person I was transferred to told me. It was scary for a moment, when I first called back after the mistake I was told that I would have to cancel the entire thing and book a new one- and of course at that point Poly was sold out. Luckily I was passed along until someone knew what to do.lol

OP- just make sure to tell the CM that it is a 'guest' not someone that is being added to your trip.
I didn't have any problems with doing it this year...haven't checked in yet, but my disney experience definitely doesn't show extra tickets.

Only the Front Desk is able to add an additional Guest for a portion of the stay. Disney Reservations can only add a Guest for the length of the trip.

I just wanted it "notated" so there wouldn't be any issues. I did create issues last year by doing so obviously. :( This time I gave them the entire above situation and begged to not have a repeat.
