Beach Club or Yacht Club, or doesn't it matter?

We've never been to either resort and are thinking of trying them on our next trip. Does it make a difference which one we go with? Are there pros and cons of either? Thanks for any info.

Both are beautiful and a great choice.

Yacht Club has an understated elegance. The lobby has leather chairs, brass accents, mahagony, and other "higher end" fixtures.

Beach Club is very beachy--with wicker furniture and birdcages and "crafty" knicknacks.

Also, Yacht Club rooms all have full balconies, whereas Beach Club rooms have half balconies, and some look like they are too small to even use, and still other rooms do not even look like they offer balconies (not sure on that latter part).

We prefer Yacht Club b/c it is more elegant, but doesn't throw its elegance down your throat like Grand Floridian. Beach Club needed something else, we thought....

My vote is for Yacht Club.

What surfsupdon said. We stayed at YC and BCV. Between the 2 I would go for the villas everytime. But between Y&B I would go for Yacht. Yacht is closer to the boat launch, Beach you can walk to Epcot better.

Both are great, see what has openings. When we stayed at Yacht, Beach club was full to a convention of people from Japan.

I have only stayed at Yacht Club, but I'm about to embark on my first trip to the Beach Club (villas) at the end of the week (woo!)

Don't know if this is the case at Beach, but one thing we noticed about Yacht that was kind of annoying (at least from what I remember, this was years ago,) is that depending on where your room was located, you could end up having to haul it down a pretty long series of corridors to get back and forth from your room (this isn't really a HUGE problem or anything as none of us have problems walking, but it does tend to wear on you after a few days of Theme Parking.) Nevertheless, our room had a balcony (very nice,) and a fairly good view of IllumiNations from it at that. All in all, I would stay there again, no horror stories here to be sure. I will have to see how it compares to the Beach club experience while I am there. :)

polynesiangirl, I think you will be happy with the villas We stayed in 2 different rooms (one on one side of the pool, the other on the other side.) They way the resort is laid out the walks aren't too bad no matter where you are. Given the choice between Pool view and Epcot view I would choose pool (Epcot is mostly woods, and there is a road that runs along it.)

I fixed my orignal post. I ment givne the choice between Y&B I would choose Yacht, but hey Beach ain't bad either! I think the most important difference is the full balconies at Yacht.

Haven't stayed at either but we trekked over (well rode the bus) to Beaches N' Cream at Beach Club. It is a really good place for a quick lunch. I had the grilled chicken sandwich (YUM), my mom had a sunrise (sunset?) orange shake thing that was really good (like a creamsicle shake) and my daughter had No Way Jose, huge chocolate/peanut butter dessert (HUGE). It was all very good. SOrry I can't help with the original question but wanted to throw out the Beaches N Cream recommendation!
