We are staying at the beach club club level and they don’t have bottled water. This is always a main Pro on reviews. I don’t really care bc we all have aluminum bottles but some guest seem to be really put out. Anyone know why they started this?

They just let us know we could purchase it or refill our bottles. I will keep asking until I get an answer I guess. Curious if it’s at all the resorts

You simply have to ask for it.
They will give you whatever you ask for its just not in the fridge like the soda etc.
They are 12oz bottles btw.
I just stayed CL at CR in July.

Did you check with guest services--is this the new policy or did mousekeeping forget to put it in the room?

They don't put bottled water in the rooms.
I believe OP is referring to the fridge in the lounge not having water.
They don't put the water in the fridge but you can ask for as much as you want and they will grab it from the kitchen.

They did put a large bottle of Dasani water in our room daily when we stayed Poly CL. No bottled water was in the lounge.

WL Club had the small bottles of Dasani in the lounge fridge.

AKL Club had no bottled water available even upon request.

It seems to depend on resort. It also may be Club lounges are “going green” and eliminating the small individual bottles of water.

That is why I suggested to the OP to ask.

I asked the morning concierge. It’s in an effort to be greener. So it must depend on the resort. Thanks for your responses.

I am at the GF right now and it is available on display for guests to take. It is not refrigerated though.

Was at the AKL in July and it was available per request from cast members. At the CR in February it was in the fridge and available via request.

I spend 4-5 nights in hotels every week. I’m seeing a trend of refillable water stations rather than free water bottles. Disney is adding refillable water stations in the parks. I think this trend will continue and grow throughout the industry.
Cutting down on plastic water bottles is not a bad thing, but I think saving a few dollars is also at play, which for Disney is not a bad thing. That said, isn't this one of the things you kinda expect in a lounge?

I'm seeing filtered water stations in club level lounges (in regular hotels, I don't bother with club level unless I get it for free lol), not a lot, but a few. There are plastic cups with lids and straws at a lot of them.... So here we still have lots of plastic. But, whether it is REALLY to be green or to save a few bucks, I think that is where we are headed.

Well, it certainly saves money and emissions to ship thousands of cups and lids as opposed to filled bottles of water.

It's cost savings too. To supply plastic water bottles involves transport, cost, disposal to name a few. Having refillable water stations in hotels is smart business all around.
