Beach Club, Boardwalk or Yacht Club?

We have an upcoming trip planned and have booked Beach Club. A discount has been offered for Boardwalk and Yacht Club and we are trying to decide if we should move to take advantage of the savings. We have stayed at all three resorts and love all of them. The concern is room condition. Beach Club was very recently rehabbed and it sounds like Yacht Club is scheduled for rehab in early 2017. Can anyone share insight in to how 'hammered' Yacht Club might be? We stayed at Boardwalk about 18 months ago and all looked good but quite a bit of time has passed since then. As good as the pool is at Beach/Yacht it is unlikely that we will use it as we never make time to swim. Trying not to sound like a snob but we kind of are hotel snobs and expect everything to be at the highest level (for the money especially when paying Disney prices). We are not talking about a ton of savings here but the money can be allocated to food and/or tours, etc. Looking forward to seeing what you guys think.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Im a bit of a hotel snob now myself more so as time goes on. Lol. We love The Boardwalk out of all of those but Yacht Club is nice too. Also the Garden cottages/suites that you get your own entrance and garden in most of them are really nice too at The Boarwalk. The pictures on Disney's site do them no justice having stayed in them ourselves. So looking for a little more luxury you have those that include club access too. We are DVC now since 2013. so have not stayed in a regular room at these in a long while. Now another fave at GF the Villas are absolutely luxurious if you can ever stay in those! Probably the best rooms on property (minus the bungalows lol) with a close second Kidani Village. But Boardwalk is in our top 3 for the regular rooms and DVC. :)

I stayed at the YC two years ago... It was run down... Fan was missing blades. two blades.... Just old...I know this happens and why they are going to fix it, but it was pretty sad... On the other hand, you can't be the location... We just wish we stayed at the BC...

It was made worse that I stayed at the brand new four seasons for my wedding for four days before we switched to the YC

Id stick with Beach Club. I've stayed at the boardwalk and the beach club within the past year and I think BC is the better resort. I love them both though and you can't really go wrong with either

I'd always go with something at Yacht and Beach over the BoardWalk. Stormalong Bay is reason enough in my eyes. I'm also not that crazy about staying at BoardWalk. I love the tranquility of Yacht and Beach. We just stayed at Yacht this summer. There were three rooms in our party. Nobody had any complaints about room condition at all.

In my mind, it's between Yacht and Beach because of the pool. You can enjoy everything at Boardwalk while staying at BC, but you can't enjoy Stormalong Bay while staying at Boardwalk, if that makes sense.

Avoid Yacht. Rooms are truly dated.

Beach has brand new rooms which are terrific.

BoardWalk has brand new rooms. Might I suggest a boardwalk facing room at BWI, Club Level, if you are a hotel snob and want the best. As a fellow Deluxe snob, we find the Innkeepers Club to really be terrific.

If you don't plan on using stormalong bay I'd float the idea around of going to Boardwalk. BC is our favorite resort, but we use the pool. If you don't plan on it maybe take the cheaper deal at the boardwalk.

Of the 3, my favorite is the BC and I don't swim so technically the pool isn't an attraction. But I love sitting in a beach chair, toes in the sand, around the pool area. And most importantly, I can get to Beaches and Cream for my beloved No Way Jose Sundae even if it's raining, without getting wet.

Love BC/YC for Stormalong Bay pool complex. BC is favorite due to proximity to International Gateway @ Epcot. Last stayed at YC in 2014 and back then the rooms were somewhat dated. As we usually take advantage of seasonal discounts, the YC is usually cheaper (as in last time was 30% off YC and 20% off BC), which is why we stayed there in 2014. I've said elsewhere that we were literally in the last room on the first floor of the YC, closer to the Swan and Dolphin. Since the quick serve at the complex is the Beach Club Marketplace, lets just say using refillable mugs was very inconvenient (although Hurricane Hannah's wasn't that bad).

The rooms are going to be worked on starting next year.

Orlando Sentinel did give details what is happening the Yacht and Beach Club. Besides the Convention Center Expansion, the rooms are going to be under refurbishment. The Room refurbishment is supposed to start in January of 2017 and take about a year according to a Disney Spokeswoman.

Thanks. The Beach rooms were included. The rooms were completely gutted and the new look looks terrific! Very, very nice, huge improvement getting rid of the Little Mermaid character intrusion.

Yacht is my favorite Resort, but needs their update terribly!! Gut those rooms and move onward. I cannot wait to see the color scheme and new furnishings. The Beach rooms and hallways are great....Yacht should be getting the same treatment.

I check this site daily for refurbished Yacht rooms. Let me know when they are here.

Once again…just there in August…the Yacht Club rooms were fine. No complaints from people in the three rooms we were traveling with.

I'm going to defer to my wife's complaint about Boardwalk. She doesn't like that it doesn't have much of a "lobby experience". I tell her, the boardwalk itself is your lobby! She's not buying it. It's no wonder she loves the resorts with the most immersive lobby experience like AKL and WL. Some people! lol.

Personally, I think there's something to love about all of those choices, but take heed to my wife's warning :p
