Was fortunate to land reservation here last week...I had high expectations and they were exceeded in almost every way. Really makes the other TS options at MK look bad in comparison. I hope there are plans for say LTT or CP to step up their game. CRT also has a long way to go to meet this standard

Interesting. What was better about it? Food quality?

I've only been at BoG for CS.

We did BOG for dinner in November 2012, and then again for lunch in September 2013.
Lunch was waaaaay better than dinner.
Cupcakes were awful both times. Fourteen months in - I would have expected a plussing of the dessert menu.

The dessert menu is pathetic. It's a French restaurant!
Not only is the dessert menu pathetic, the cupcakes themselves are gross. Soggy, lardy, nasty, yuck!
This gal wants creme brûlée, chocolate torte, profiteroles, pot de creme, soufflé ....

For what it's worth, I really enjoyed the Master's Cupcake, and my mom liked the cream puff she got (granted, she likes cream puff in general, so...).

Anyway, we might be going Christmas 2014, so fingers crossed we can get a dinner reservation.

I wasn't too impressed with Be Our Guest. We are there for dinner in September, and it did not meet expectations. The food, that is. The theming was great, as expected, but the food was not. I was kind of disappointed since it is a French restaurant and I expected the food quality to match the grandeur of the castle. I wouldn't eat there for dinner again, but maybe I would try lunch.

BoG is still the Crown Jewel of the FLE so the meal should be excellent from appetizers to dessert. The food seems to be real hit or miss with some of the options and they have already removed some problem offerings.
Cup Cakes and Cream Puffs surprise me. IMO it isn't hard to exceed CRT or Tony's. Tony's is annoying, they could hire a great chef and a competent kitchen staff. Liberty, still love their food.

I thought the cupcakes were the best part, but we were there in May so maybe the quality has decreased? I was not at all happy about the entree I got. I think it was hen? It was so bland and dry and just awful. The apps were good though and these plus the atmosphere, Beast, and dessert made me decide to book another ADR there this May.

I thought desserts were great, never thought of it as a "French" restaurant the way that Chefs de France is a French restaurant. I kind of just thought of it as more movie/fantasy based...

We have been to BOG for dinner 6 times and lunch once (most recently December 21 for lunch and Dec 23 for dinner) and have yet to be disappointed! The food is consistently good and service as well. I'm not blown away with it as I was at first, but only because I now know what to expect. In my opinion, nothing in MK even comes close to what is offered at BOG. Both soups are excellent, the steak and salmon are fantastic, and the kids menu is so much better then the normal WDW fare. I can't say a bad thing about BOG. Cant wait to eat there again this summer.

Lunch is much better, IMO.
We waited in what appeared to be a huge line at 1:45, and were in within 15 mins.

I had the braised pork, and SIL had the Croque Monsieur. I had a bite of her sandwich, which was way too rich for me, but the pork was easily as good as the pot roast at LTT.
Add some decent desserts to the menu (like Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - oh my gosh!) and it would absolutely be a home run for me.

We at at BOG for dinner in March and weren't all that impressed. The theming was incredible but the food was meh, IMO. We're going to be doing lunch in a couple weeks and hope that it will be better than dinner was. At least it won't cost me a couple hundred dollars like dinner for 4.

We've had one dinner and one lunch at BOG. I think it's a combination of personal preferences and inconsistencies. It's the best TS dinner we've had in MK (and we've eaten at BOG, CRT, LTT, and CP for dinner), but considering we gave CRT and CP low marks for dinner and LTT mediocre marks...'best' doesn't mean that much. I still feel you're better leaving MK if you want TS dinner. Our appetizers were great, but the rest of the meal wasn't memorable. DH got the steak, which at the time had been heavily criticized. His was good...not rave-worthy, but good. My pork was gross and the macaroni gratin was over-salted to the point that it was inedible. The cupcakes were OK, but there are better cupcakes elsewhere at WDW.

We tried lunch back in September and while it was decent, it wasn't spectacular either. I'd still rank CHH above BOG as far as MK CS goes. We had a FP+ for lunch, which was good, because I think I would have been disappointed if we'd waited on the insane line.

All in all, everyone is going to have different experiences and preferences. I still think it's at least worth trying it once as the setting is very cool. I still prefer the CRT setting (ex. personal preference), but I'm happy to have had the opportunities to dine at BOG just to see it.

@coachwnh do you have any pics of the salmon? I think I am going to try that this time around. Have you, or anyone else on this thread, tried the meat and cheese appetizer? I wanted to try that last time, but got french onion soup instead.

*Edit: Meat and sausage platter not meat and cheese and now I no longer want to try it lol
