BCV 7 month window?

How hard is it to get a reservation for the BCV with a 7 month window? Our home resort is SSR. My DW and I will be staying at SSR (for the first time) in May 2008. We want to visit the Flower and Garden Fest (for my DW) at EPCOT. In October 2008 I was thinking about BCV for the Food and Wine Fest (for me!!!). Should I book at SSR with the 11 month window, then try to change my reservations at 7 months, or just shoot for the 7 month window at BCV? It will be just the two of us, (not the kids, 18 & 21) so a studio or 1 bedroom will do just fine...I'm not sure about this whole waiting list thing...

Do you get put right on a list at 7 months, or do they make your reservation if they have available rooms?:shrug:

I would book your home resort at the 11-mo window, and then try to book BCV at the 7-mo window. If it's not available, get added to the wait list.

The only time that BCV is really hard to get is during the F&W festival (October) and December.

A 1-BR is usually easier to get than a Studio.

I was able to get a studio ate BCV for 9/29 - 10/5 (first week of Food & Wine) one week into the 7 mos. window. I would definitely have a back up reservation available. I think it gets harder the further into October you get.

I appreciate the advice...I think I'll book at SSR at 11 months and then shoot for the wait list at 7 months as suggested. I think we're talking about the middle to the end of October of 08. It sounds like it's a popular event and the BCV are in demand so I don't want to take any chances.:wave:

BCV at 7 Month Window

Hi,

Just a personal experience with that---

We had an unexpected opportunity to take an extra trip in Jan 2006 when we found out our oldest son was going to be in Orlando on business with one of his associates.

Long story short, I called on November 30 2005 asking for a 2 BR at BWV with a Jan. 29 checkin for five nights. They didn't have the unit at BWV, but they offered me a 2 BR at BCV. Of course, we booked it.:sohappy:

I was very, very surprised that approximately 60 days out I was able to book the 2 BR at BCV with points.

I'm sure this would not have happened during F&W, for instance. But I think luck plays a big part along with persistence and planning.

Wow

Just enjoying a beautiful morning here in PA washing cars in the driveway, both garage doors up, with live365 playing a WDW station from the computer in the garage. I'm finally finished with what I started early this morning. I've been daydreaming all morning about our next trip. I stop to check the posts before I head in for a shower. We're off to a Labor Day picnic soon. What do I see? A reply to a post I left sometime ago...and a very encouraging one at that...:wave:
