My fiance is wanting to get his hair cut at the barber shop on main street in the magic kingdom....has anyone done this?? I heard they have a singing quartet that performs while you are getting a hair cut!

I've not had my hair cut there, but it is a working barbershop. I do not know how often the quartet sing there - they are called the Dapper Dans and usually perform on Main Street USA.

The Harmony Barbershop is my favorite place to get a haircut. It has become a part of my vacations to WDW. You get a great cut, and the Barbers are very entertaining.:D

once you pass through the tunnels at the train station, head left toward the fire house. once you get over by the fire house, you should be able to see the barber pole. I got my hair cut there last year. your going to want to get there when it opens because it is pretty popular. I was the first one there, and once it opened, a steady flow of people continued to show up. They did a wonderful job, posed for some pictures, and even sprinkled pixie dust in my hair when they were done. (mickey shaped confetti). Even though i've been there only one time, its going to become a tradition for me!

My 14 year old son is planning on getting his hair cut there next Saturday when we arrive. It's something he's always wanted to do.

Having done it twice  it's a fun thing to do. It's $15 for an adult cut, $12 for children. You get to choose a "hair color" and then get pixie dust sprinkled in your hair. Michael is a great barber. :) Last time we were there (5/5-5/11, it's over now... ) my 3 year old and I got our hair cut there, and we both got "hidden Mickey's" in the back of our heads. Just the colored gel, but it was fun. BTW, that colored gel is quite durable, and it takes quite a bit of rinsing to get it out once it's dry.

I haven't seen the Dapper Dans outside the barber shop when I've been there.

Dapper Dans perform more the afternoon. The help open Tony's Restuarant at noon, meaning they perform there. And they perform before the parade around 2:30 and after around 4 pm, with the sax quartet.

I have got my haircut there several times. Somehow it is always the same Barber. I don't know her name but she's the latino woman.

Anyway, it is a really great place to get a haircut.
