Buena Vista Home Entertainment's Bambi - Special Edition sold about 1 million combined DVD and VHS units Tuesday, its first day in rerelease on home video.

The sales performance matches other Disney Platinum Series home video rereleases of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Lion King, the latter of which sold 3 million combined DVD and VHS units during its first two days in release in September 2003.

The double-disc special edition is the first time the classic has been released on DVD. "Bambi" first came to home video on VHS in September 1989 and then again in February 1997.

Does anybody know when they will stop printing the Bambi DVD? Because I haven't bought it yet and I don't want to miss it.

Even though Bambi doesn't need to hear it from me......I wanted to say Congratulations to that movie. It has always been one of my favorites. That is the first movie that actually made me sit down and think about how awful it would be to lose one/both of my parents. So basically I learned to appreciate the time I have with them more.

Well, I had a similar experience. The movie made me wonder how awful it would be for a boy to grow up with the name Bambi!
