Baggage Claim at Orlando Airport

Is it just me? Or are there others who feel the same way?
Some of my favorite times of my life, the times I'd love to beam myself back to, are at the luggage carousel at Orlando International Airport.

I've either been taking Magical Express or been carry-on only since about 2007, so it's been quite a while since I've even been on the MCO Baggage Claim level... (Though I will have to go there in just over 2 months)

But I do find a certain excitement at the arriving automated tram that takes you from the airsides to the main terminal, so if that's what you're getting at...

Back when I vacationed here and didn't live here I hated that. I don't want to wait for my luggage, I want to get on my way right away!

I'd be all for suitcases full of money... The lobster I could live without. Now if it were chocolate covered strawberries we could be getting somewhere

Can't say the Orlando airport and/or baggage claim is a fav place (in fact the warm security line might be my least fav place) and certainly not one of the best times of my life, but sometimes coming down the escalator and seeing the DME buses/signs will give me an excited feeling? I guess?

I flew into MCO last year for a race. I don't remember baggage claim. I generally hate waiting for my bags. So much that I'll try to take a carry on every chance I can.

I'm flying into MCO on Monday. We are not using Magical Express, so I'll pay some more attention this time. Maybe I'm missing something special.

I hate that part, waiting for my suitecase, hope it isn't lost, starting vacation without clothes or other important items. The thought of having to waste valuable vacation time trying to track down luggage makes me crazy. Now on the way home not a problem, if my luggage goes to Philly and me to Baltimore they can send it to me the next day.

I like how they decorate that one area for Halloween.

I think OIA does an amazing job getting the luggage out quickly.

I've never had to get my bags from the airport. I always use magical express. The couple of things I love is getting on the tram going to the main terminal and then going down to the first floor to get on the magical express bus. Now that's awesome!!!!

While I can't say this is true for me (and apparently some others feel the same way)... can you let us know what made it so special?

Were there times you were a little one holding onto Granny or PopPop's hands?

Did your family start to build the excitement and ask what you wanted to do first?

Did you wait for someone's luggage to come off the belt and split open so that all of their unmentionables fell out for everyone to see? (Which I did see once, and let me just say, if it were my underoos that were spinning on the carousel, I would tsk tsk and walk away and disown my luggage...)

Let us know what made this time so special.... I have a feeling it can be a great story....so share with us!!

I get it, 10magic...I totally do!
We don't fly to many places anymore, and there is something sort of awesome about every travel ritual. Airports can be magic!

I am very proud of my luggage...which is either hand painted or crazy vintage...and I like that in the sea of black suitcases, coming onto the carousel, mine always stand out happily, and ready for adventures! And we always play the game...Is Ours Coming Out Next?
I guess I just get so excited to be on vacation...that every little part of it is exciting!

There are other things about the airport that I love too...like the little monorail from the terminal...seeing the theme park stores too! It always makes me so happy!
And after retrieving the bags from the baggage claim...there awaits one last awesome airport moment...stepping outside.

Nothing smells like Florida! It's an amazing smell.

I think it's just the feeling I have when I'm there. It has nothing to do with baggage at all. It's the time and place I know I'll wish I could go back to when my Disney vacation is over. Every time I'm there, I know great times are coming! Look, I guess I could say the same thing about the resort check-in counter, but I just picked the airport luggage carousel here. And I don't even ride it any more.

Not in the baggage claim but I have a lot of memories on the trasportation level, waiting on the lines for car rentals.

ME TOO! I get it, we have arrived. Before the bags come, I duck outside for a quick fix of that Florids weather. Then back inside, grab the bags and Let the fun begin.
