Well, im going to be at Epcot August 15 for Mission Space, not because i want to, but mostly because its the only time i can go... Is this a good idea? Do you think i'll be able to ride it? Will the media be there? Do you think there will be a high chance of technical difficulties?

Any help would be appreciated.... thanks!

We will certainly be back to Epcot another day to see MS. I'm planning our trip around leaving epcot out of the trip during the 15th on. I would avoid this park on this day if you don't want to miss with crowds and such. :)

Just cancel everything and come back on 2007

that way you can ride every new thing, Including Project GImini, EE, and the stuff they are builing at universal World. :hammer:

I'm actually not sure August 15th will be all that bad...with SPACE open every day, now, I would think most Floridians will be going there now when they perceive the lines will be shorter, and will therefore avoid opening day. That, and August 15th is a Friday, and schools are back in session in Florida by then, so if you go in the morning, especially, you may not have major problems. Just be sure to get there right at 9 am;)

No the crowds will still be there on the 19th, but I don't think they can be that long. With all 4 centrifuges running, and the still another month of unannounced previews, expect probably and hour or so wait, but not much more than that.

32 Days left yay

Ill be there the 19th also, i guess a one hour wait is better than not even goin on at all. While im standing in that line, Ill just keep reminding myself that soon I will meet the ladder in person:)

Anyway, I will eagerly be waiting at the gates on the 15th so i can be one of the first to experience Mission: Space on openning day. Of course, I am sure thousands of other people are thinking the same thing. :D :veryconfu

considering Disney themselves say that August 15 is opening day (it says it on the website as well), i doubt that it WOULDNT be open to the public, unless their were technical difficulties......

thank u everyone for the input thus far........ any CM's have anything to say about going August 15?

On days where the Ride has opened the do all kinds of press run throughs plus Eisner and anyone else who is important and on hand to open the ride. I am sure Gary Sinse will be there. I am sure it will be open to the public but after all the festivities and Pomp and circumstance are finished.

It is never a bad idea to go to Epcot. You know what, I take that back...don't go to Epcot on August 15. Instead, here is what you do......

MAIL ME YOUR TICKET SO I CAN GO ON AUGUST 15!!!! :sohappy:  :sohappy:

True, there will be opening festivities, but recall that this is not the Grand Opening, so I wouldn't really expect a big production like we will see in October. Probably just a 30-minute press event. I'm sure guests will be riding by 10 or 11 am...just be there at 9 am...toward the afternoon, I'm sure lines will be atrocious--esp. as kids start getting out of school.
