Picture this. Theme park Internet sites were alive with the sound of barbs following two front page pictures accompanying an Orlando Sentinel story about lowered attendance at the parks.

The Disney World Main Street photo showed just four people milling about on a "recent day around 3 p.m."

The problem: The Disney Magical Moments parade goes down Main Street at 3 p.m., making it highly unlikely that the street would have been empty between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Further, strong storms forced the parade to shut down on July 5 and 12, an understandable enough reason for not having a throng of visitors.

Swan song. Treva Marshall, the director of marketing communications at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, is leaving to form her own public relations company, TJM Communications.

Marshall, who has been with the hotel for five years, says it is undecided whether her position will be filled.

Marshall, meanwhile, has one client ready to go: South Africa has signed her firm to promote travel there through the African-American press
