Backpack on ride with camera gear

Hey All,

I'm gonna be bringing a backpack with misc stuff and some pricey camera gear. The bag has a rain cover as well. Couple of questions.

In the parks are there any rides I can't take the bag on? Also how wet could the bag get on the River ride at Animal Kingdom and also splash mountain? Is a rain cover sufficient? If not can you rent a locker just for an hour without paying for all day?

Thanks,

Greg

Kali had a container in the middle to put your stuff mine stayed almost 100% dry. Splash the rain cover will be fine and if you are doubting it wrap a poncho around it too but I have never walked off soaked in splash, Kali that's a different story lol! Are you going to universal? They make you get lockers but they are free! Have fun!!

I wouldnt bother renting a locker for either ride. All the rides you can store your backpacks at your feet... Except Soarin, there is a small netting under the seat for storage but larger backpacks that cant fit are left on the floor as you rise.
Theres more chance of wetness on Kali than Splash. Yes there is a covered area on the Kali rafts that you can put your things in but sometimes thats not totally waterproof. You could chance leaving it on the dock with the CM's or an even better idea is packing a trash bag in your backpack to wrap it in before storing it on the Kali raft compartment.
Splash soaking is less but it depends on where you are seated and the amount of water in the channel at the time of your drop. Although theres less chance of a soaking on Splash, I'd wrap my backpack in a trash bag there also just to be safe.
