Backlot Tour EXPANSION

idea.

We all know DHS's backlot tour is a mere shadow of its former self. We also know very well that DHS's layout leaves MUCH to be desired. Getting from, say Tower of Terror to LMA (soon Carsland?) is quite a trek.

So, I had an idea. Let's Expand the Backlot tour and make it more like a transportation option the same way the MK Railroad is.

There could be 2-3 stops along the route and they could add props and the usual backlot tour spiel.

I got the idea after seeing on the original park map that the tram portion of the tour actually used to BEGIN where the Animation section is located now.

Below is a highlighted route, with Carsland's potential area on the bottom. I'm thinking a stop right near Sunset Blvd. and near to the existing one might be enough.

mmm. it's not a bad idea. it would actually make good use of the trams and be able to still keep the whole Backlot Tour spiel.

Three 90 degree turns is not practical or possible with any sort of "train" type transit system where cars are hooked together...I like the thinking though!

Perhaps I am wrong then...it just does not seem practical with larger systems that would be used as high capacity transit versus a smaller capacity ride system.

...sure is nice to see the water tower with ears!!!

I wish they'd do something with it, I don't think I've bothered riding it since they took out the houses to make room for LMA (which imho wasn't worth it)

If the parking lot trams can do 180 degree turns then I see no problem with these doing 90.

well...there ya go then.

But it would mean spending money and that aint gonna happen any time soon. Discontinued EMH are on their way and with other much simpler things like fixing other existing attractions falling by the wayside enjoy the dream!

Yeah I like this idea too, I know originally Sunset Boulevard was supposed to have Trolley cars, similar to Main St and the World Showcase double-decker buses, but like the WC buses it was deemed too problematic with the foot traffic


But MGM could use some transportation, the MK train doesn't' cross over foot paths maybe something on the edge of the park

I do like the idea of a Hollywood Studios Backlot Park-wide Tour. Its sort of reminding me of the TTA a little bit, but one problem I see is that it'll go backstage, literally, some of the best rides there, which becomes problematic when CMs need to get behind there for their daily job (since you won't see CMs going through the front gate to get to where they need to get to). It just needs to be retweaked. Plus, I also have this to say with this said expansion: why just add a redone tour, and actually expand the backlot by taking out LMA and adding in new rides and a show or two. I already got good ideas for something like this, but I kept the tour in the same area, but re-imagined it to have an unique story to it. Other than that, it rocks.

I think this is the best idea for the Backlot Tour that I've seen, but I've always like the idea of a subway as transportation in DHS...
