I'M GONNA BE REALLY BUMMED WHEN THEY CLOSE THE BACKLOT TOUR. I'M SURE THEY'LL KEEP THE CANYON WORKING FOR SOMETHING . BUT I LOVE SEEING THINGS THAT WERE ACTUALLY USED IN THE MOVIES. THE TOUR USED TO HAVE A LOT MORE OF THESE ITEMS IN THE WALK THRU BEFORE YOU GOT ON THE TRAMS. I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE ALOT OF THAT KIND OF STUFF!!!!

tour

I could almost assure you that if they ever permanently closed down backlot tour, the valuable used items from movies would be displayed somewhere within a park in Disney World.

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CANT HAVE MORE THERE IN ORLANDO. I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY COOL TO SEE ALL THE STUFF IN THE 101 DALMATIONS MOVIE SET AND SUCH NEXT DOOR. I WOULD THINK SOME THINGS LIKE THAT COULD BE USED.
THE OTHER THING I WONDER IS WHY DONT THEY DISPLAY THE GRAVEYARD VEHICLES IN A WAY THAT WOULD KEEP THEM IN BETTER CONDITION FOR LONGER?

Actually, the Backlot Tour(according to my Dad) is closed.....temporaily. It is until they finish the Stunt Show, and that is when they are finally going to open it back up. I heard anyway that the the tour will be shorter, because of the Animation studio being closed. I guess now that the Stunt Show will be main focus of the tour.

Yea...When I heard the rumors that it may not open back up, I didnt totally rule it out. The way the tour was before it closed, to me, seemed like to parts. Part 1 was Wardrobe, Animation Studio, Soundstages...Part 2 was the Canyon. The only things in between these were scattered props on the ground. NOW, if it opens back up, Animation will be closed...The Haunted Mansion Movie Sets will be closed...and NY street is even a bigger mess now.

Im saying, I wouldnt wanna wait in line for 30 minutes, and see a canyon and blue construction walls.

From what I have seen when I walked by, no work has been going on in the queue house. There is also NO WAY it closed this long just to re-route it. When they changed it from the old route, to this new one, they did that change literally over night. So, if they are not paining (the queue) and are currently re-routing (takes MAYBE only half the rahab time), what they're working on for the rest of the rehab is anyone's guess.

Yeah, they are. But the Backlot Tour(if I remember correctly) went through the Animation building/s. It went through there(Again, I think), for how they make costumes.

No, that was wardrobe and props. The tour used to go BY the Animation Studio, never inside. W/o them explaining about the studio, it will seem like a tour thru the parking lot.

Well IST while they are doing some minor rehab work on the Canyon and SPFX Water Tank show the main reason why the Backlot Tour is closed is so that the construction crew can get better access to the stunt show site. But trust me the tour did need some work:lookaroun

I think they should create an entrance the the motor show either right past the old Hunchback theater, or right from the NY Street or where the old Roger Rabbit shop used to be. Then reopen the backlot tour and have it routed from the special effects thing (which hopefully they'll update again) and then have the tram go past go backwards through the costume and electrical department and then head over to the canyon. They'd have to put in something along the way to make it interesting. Anyone agree?

Yea, I forgot all about them needing better access to the Stunt Show Sight. Do you know if they will be changing the route again? Hopefully they change the Watertank to a Pirates theme
