Ok.... About 2 years ago, I made a small (ground) firework show choreagraphed(sp?) to the "Illuminations" song. It turned out very well. I did it with my friend and showed it for my family and neighbors. Everyone enjoyed it a lot! This year, I plan to do a "light show" using various lights like flood lights, christmas lights, ect... I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me think of some ideas where I could make this show exciting. I was either going to choreagraph it to "SpectroMagic" or "Wishes". The "Main Street Electrical Parade" is nice, but too repetious(sp?). I also have a smoke machine. (I could have two if my friend helps me). I have a strobe light (3 if my friend helps me). I'll be doing this display against the backside of my house. (2-storys) and have 2 (one-story tall) trees on both sides of my house. There are also a few windows on both floors facing the backyard of my house. If you'd like to help, please post your ideas! (I want to become an imagineer when I get older and if everything works out and I do this, I could tape it and figure out a way to show you all!)

Sounds awesome. Very ambitious and impressive!

I'm sure you probably aware, but there are loads of creative people, like yourself who backyard imagineer.

Just doing a google search, I found this interesting website.

As for the music, that's a tough choice. EPCOT is my favorite park for original music. I think Yanni's "Standing in Motion" or "Santorini" would be perfect to compose a light show to. The former song is what the EPCOT fountain show moves to.'

Good Luck!

Do you have any idea of where I could get that music so I could buy it or burn it onto a CD? I listened to "Standing in Motion" on http://www.soundofmagic.com/ but I'm not sure if that was the whole song or not. Thanks:wave:

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier...

The file from soundofmagic is not the full songe. The version I have is 8 minutes and 50 seconds long. This includes a two minute "soft intro" before the main song hits.

If you're not strict about going strictly with Disney Park music, there's loads of other music that would be great. Scores from movies (Rocketeer comes to mind) and other new age music would be neat as well. As I said, Yanni's repetouire seems perfect for Epcot-esque music. For a more modern flare, you may be interested to check out the collective works of Orbital--an intersting modern new age group.

Hope this helps.

Don't worry. I'm in no rush. Anyways... where did you get your 8min 50sec version of "Standing in Motion"? I'll probably stay with the Disney Park Music. If I don't use "Standing in Motion", then I'll probably use the "Wishes" CD that I have. Thanks for your help so far. If anyone else wants to help me figuring out some stuff, feel free to post! Thanks!

Actually, I wouldn't mind just buying the Cd because the other songs also look good. I'll probably ask for it for Christmas. Thanks anyways!

Thanks for that. I'm still probably going to buy the Cd, but now I know what the whole thing sounds like. I still have to ask what song my friends like better so they can vote and we will use what ever song comes in first. It's either this, or "Wishes". I'll tell you what the outcome is later. Thanks for your help! Later, after Christmas, I'm going to bring this thread back and I'll ask people if they know of any neat special F-X that I could use.
