Why did they close this ride? Back to the Future is still popular, even if the final film came out 22 years ago! I had told my younger brother while planning for our first trip about the ride, when he had been an avid fan of the series, and when we got there, we asked where it was. Oh, it was replaced by the Simpsons? That was very disapointing. :( Any reasson why they did close it?

Same reason most rides are closed, it was old and less popular than its replacement was predicted to be.

Plus, this specific ride would have eventually dated itself more than most. In a few years, BTTF's "future" will be the present.

Never thought of that. Does anyone recall what date in the future they travelled to?

The only place you can ride it now is at Universal Studios Japan. The cool thing is that when they released the first movie on Bluray they included the entire ride experience on the disc.

That is cool! I didn't know that! :)

You can see the cars from the Back to the Future films and Courthouse Square at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Is the tour currently going past courthouse square? Last time I went it didn't... with no explanation which I was so looking forward to.

If it goes right onto courthouse square that would more than make up for Indy being closed at DL... if it isn't I would seriously consider buying a vip tour just for that. BTTF is possibly my fave movie of all time.

I just went on the tour yesterday and we went past the building, on the side. Usually you pass in front of it, but they were filming yesterday, so there were some detours. If you love the movie that much, I would suggest you do the VIP tour. I myself plan on doing that tour soon. I think it's well worth it. With your enthusiasm for the film, do the VIP.

That ride was awesome. When the park opened there was not that much to do so that helped. I can remember the first time I rode I closed my eyes when the dinosaur was trying to eat you. This ride was killer for its time and to see it replaced by the Simpsons was sad. I am just waiting the Family Guy to move in next.

Sorry to pester you with questions but, do you know If the VIP tour takes you on kong 360 and all the attractions on the backlot or do you need to do the backlot tour separately for those?

You're not bothering me, ask away! The VIP Tour should include everything, including the King Kong bit. Just in case, I can call and ask, if you want me to.

True, in the movie they go to 2015, but couldn't they change the ride to 2025 or something? And maybe edit the future a bit, keep the hover boards, but make the future seem more abstract like it was in the movie. In my personal opinion, they Simpsons need to die. It used to be so funny, but now it seems to be a parody of itself now that its on it's 20th seasson...

The ViP tour takes yu through everything. I did it two weeks ago. So completely worth it! Front ofthe line to everything, great meals included in the price, walk on and around sets, soundstages, the wardrobe and prop departments...I loved it!

I was there the other week and we went through the Square, but the Courthouse had a different facade.
