just got from magic kingdom.just went for one day-we live only 3 hours away so were able to make daily trips once every 3 months.

heres trip report from tuesday-3/19
first of all had a great time-the look on my kids face driving up to disney property is priceless.i did however find some issues at the park.it may seem like im being nitpicky but oh well.
the entrance toll plaza to magic kingdom was in need of some paint-the sun was wearing at the wording up top.
in spite of everyone saying that disney was dead-let me tell ya it was packed.after riding monorail to entrance we were met by an army of disney security-id say about 15 guards checking bags.with an addition of about 5 more on the other side by stroller rental area.left camera at home so had to dish out 19.00 for a camera at camera shop on main street.
the new emporium addition is awsome!it was really done well.
buzz light year-sons favorite-noticed the outside walls had parts that were touched up with paint that didnt match the rest of wall.also on the ride vehicles the part where u control the vehicle and shoot was really scrached up and look kinda bad-need paint badly.rode spash mountain-and fot soaked because we were up front-i dont know how i did it but i smash my face on the boat when we dropped-ouch!!!!-there still was a little mildew smell on the boats too-
here the thing that gotted me upset.in line while waiting an hour to board the second cave on second floor there was about four feet of grafitti-i was shocked i have never in my 30 years going to disney seen grafitti in disney because the tried so hard to keep park clean but this was four feet of it-with about 40 different peoples writting-including a nazi swastika and one that said "amy gives good h**d"-when i got off i told the guest services manager about it and showed him too-he said hell get this fixed right away-well see anyway.

its a small world as usual a favorite but in need of paint all over-railings,loading dock, the walls etc.
cinderellas carosel was missing lights and around the fencing rails was paint drippings all over like the painter got drunk while he was painting and dropped his brush and passed out-
over all it was a great day-

i do have a question-does anybody know if the mile markers down 192 next to disney are disneys-they look like something disney would have?

I'm glad the attendance is picking up. As for the graffiti, rest assured that disney took care of it immediate. They will never allow swear word anywhere in the park, and I'm sure if you had gone through a half hour later, it would have been gone. It's ridiculous that people in my age group feel the need to do that. As for the lights...I'm sure those were fixed within 24 hours and had only gone out that day. As for paint...disney has been slightly behind on that, simply due to some cutbacks, but you can be sure within a few days, that would be fixed.

the road signs are actually to tell people where they are they zero out at disneys south entrance on 192 for example when someone askes where something like walmart is ect we can now tell them oh walmart is near marker 13 ect its a neat system. i think it was a joint construction between disney and kissimmie

ok thanks for the info-i noticed u work in fantasyland-how often do they in fact touch up and repaint attarctions because a lot of areas in "its a small world" were in great need of paint-the rails looked like someone took a brillo pad along all of them and a lot of the back wall when u leave where the kids pictures from different countries was all faded too?

small world is a sore subject basicly it needs a great deal of rehabing along w/ snow white (the witch in the boat has been broken off and on for almost 9 months now) and peter pan (gen paint and detail work)...... when the load gates were put in (i belive in august) the ride had a little rehabing done fixing costumes on the dolls, hair, did some work on the flume, ect but the whole ride needs gen rehabing fixing broken items that havent worked in over a year .........fantasyland has been basicly pushed to the side lately and the cut backs in matainance has not helped either......things basicly get painted around every 3 months or until enought cast members say something.....but the background in IASM is considered "in ride" so that only gets panted when the do a rehab ....any other questions???

Sorry to jump around alot

kewl-thanks for the info.i thought they painted every couple of months but wasnt sure.i have emailed and wrote disney letters in the past about issues i have noticed and they say they will pass it on the area mgt to look at and fix if needed-i wonder if they really do that and fix things when guests complain or if its just a shut up letter to make us feel good -lol-its funny that some areas are always perfect like the shops but some areas like fantasyland and tomorrow land always seem to (lately)need work-i hope when economy gets better disney will get back on track like the old days when u had to go out of your way to find anything wrong and u can eat of the streets.

it depressed me to read that there were things that were so badly in need of care, and the grafitti  you said they had an army of security checking.. was it slow gettng into the park or did they seem to have enough to keep the line moving fairly good?

acctually letters from guests about issues good or bad do make a difference. i have received several letters from guests saying that i made there day ect ... sometimes letters are read in the morning by the opening manager at the tracktalk b/f the land is opened .... basicly lately maintance has a list of things that are 101 (broken) or bad show and they fix what ever takes presidence w/ the time they have like if a pres at the HoP goes down at the same time as wendy shaking on the pirate ship the pres will be fixed first....but basicly guest letters DO make a difference they brighten a cast member's day and lets us see what needs to be fixed.

PS if you see a cast member doing a awsome job or anything just tell them thanks its one of those small things that makes us happy .... i cant tell you how many times i was having a bad day and then a guest comes up to me and says thank you it warms our hearts to know that make a difference
