Babysitting Service?

Has anyone taken advantage of the in-room babysitting service at Disney? I am going down in May :sohappy: and was thinking about using the service for my 3 year old. Is it a good service? I spoke to Disney and they said that the cost depends on the number of kids. I was told it was around $15.00 an hour with a 4 hour minimum. Just curious

I think it depends on how your child reacts to babysitters now... my family has used the service several times over the years and it's always been a good experience... although I will say that the kids always seemed to enjoy the Resort Kid's Programs much better... there they were around other children and there were more activities... however - if you child does ok with babysitters now - and you're planningon staying out late and would like him/her to get some sleep - the in room care is great, they are great people and though it's always scary leaving your child with someone you don't know - We've always fell in love with the sitters... Hope this helps a little...

I did a lot of research on it because we were planning to go to Disney in September with friends and we were going to get sitters for the kids while we went to dinner one night, but now my husband will be gone for that month so we had to reschedule the trip and now we don't have a reason to use a sitter. But anyway, I couldn't find much information. I read a bunch of reviews and they were all positive, said the sitters came with tons of toys and activities and the kids had a good time. I have never left my kids with a sitter before so I don't know how they would handle it. I was thinking of letting me 3 year old go to the Neverland club for a few hours in December just for fun (he'll be 4 by then)...I guess it depends on how he is around strangers at that point.

Also I think on top of the hourly rate you have to pay a travel fee too.

I have Kids Nite Out lined up twice for my upcoming trip. One evening DSIL and I are getting massages and going out to dinner. Another morning we are doing the Segway Tour at Epcot. We have three girls total and for 3 children the rate is $19 per hour plus $8 transportation fee. There is a 4-hour minimum. Because it is the three of them I am not worried about it. I would never have been able to leave my daughter alone with someone, though.
Good luck!
P.S. Kids Nite out has been very professional and friendly . I have to call them once we check in to give them the room#. They have asked the girls names and ages.
