Babysitting at WDW

I have a question about in room babysitting (pop) We are thinking about an adult only nite and was wondering if anyone has recently used this option. We are going in Dec. Daughter will be 11. I haven't seen anything recent on this subject. Thanks for any help.

I don't have kids myself (yet) but my sister's kids LOVE visiting the clubs. Simba's, Neverland Club, ect. They rave about them and BEG to go to them every trip. Her kids are 7 and 9...

Oh wow, I remember when I went to Neverland Club. I was about 6 years old and loved it! When I was 9 I had a "fairy godmother" come to my room and babysit me when we stayed at the Boardwalk. Did not really like that...the lady was nice, I just was not the kid who liked stuff like that...

We're going in May (12-20), staying at POFQ ( :sohappy: ), and taking our 11 month old son. We are planning to use the Fairy Godmothers service for one evening (:drevil: ). Does anyone have any experience of using this service as a parent, and whether it is good ( :confused: ). We like the fact that the babysitters are each of them mothers and grandmothers.

Been to Disney and will be going back in October with my 2 children but could never consider leaving them with a stranger regardless if a zillion background checks have been done. There's to many weirdo's and who knows when someone will snap..

I don't mean to be rude, but the question was whether people had experience with the service, not requesting whether use of a babysitting service was right or wrong.

There will always be differences of opinion on when, whether and if one should leave one's children with somebody unfamiliar.

I was merely gathering opinion on the service offered so that we can make an informed decision at the time if we decide to go out for an evening, although, granted, it will be a tough decision to make.

I personally would never leave my son in my resort with a stranger while I am out with no way of getting a hold of me. It creeps me out. You never know when someone is planning something-it doesn't matter how many references/checks they have had. They could walk out with him without anyone noticing. I don't like the idea of having to pay 4 hr minimum service and a travel fee for the time. I will only leave my son with my parents when we go out. They live fairly close to us so we are fortunate. I see WDW as a family vacation and I should enjoy rare time with the three of us without obligations. I had soooo many pregnancy complications with him, I will not take any chances.

I have heard many good things about the kids clubs at the resorts and about the Fairy Godmothers service from both the parents and the children. I have also heard one big negative story involving a food allergy and incompetant babysitting CMs.

But personally I would never leave my (future) child with complete strangers.

Well some people are more comfy with leaving their kids with strangers.

I personally won't have to worry about it anytime I am in Disney, because if for some reason I need a sitter in the room I'll just call my Aunt or cousins to come and watch the kids. :)

Fairy Godmother comes to the rooms to baby sit, infants on up $12 an hour 1 child, $13 an hour 2 children, $14 an hour 3 children

Clubs are for 4-12 and it runs $8 a child/per hour, meal included - open until midnight
