Avoiding FLE Images/Videos

who here is also trying their best to avoid all images and videos coming from the soft opening of the FLE? I'm trying my best to avoid them, there is something about a true and pure experience. I think if I inundate myself with images and videos from the opening that when I head down in March/2013 I'll almost be let down. Who else feels the same way?

I've been torn about it. At first I wanted to be surprised by it since the grand opening happens to fall during our trip, but then I couldn't wait! I was too excited so I ended up looking at all the pics, I have not however watched any of the videos because I want to "view" for the first time for myself. As it turns out, we got invited to a preview next week, so now I'm not laying off the looking because I know I'll be seeing it for myself very very soon!!

yeah, I've got less than six months to go... I just want to walk into the expansion and say "wow, yeah... that was worth the wait"

Yup that was my plan, but I am seriously lacking in the self control department when it comes to WDW. More power to you for sticking with it!!!

I definitely am. Between here and Flickr it's not an easy task though! I'm running the half marathon next month so I'm hoping I can get into the AP preview for one of the days I'll be there.

I follow Ricky Brigante (InsidetheMagic) on facebook and he's a local so his whole page is 100% FLE images and videos. I'm proud of myself for holding off.

I watch attraction videos all the time, but I like to have a real world/life experience for the 1st time.

I still have another 66 days but if I see a pic, no big deal. IMO, a picture out of context is nothing like being their first hand and if anything seeing a pic gets me more excited.

I’m also trying to avoid photos and videos of FLE. When we were there in March we took the train around and got off at the circus area but I was so disappointed with all the walls blocking everything. Decided then that I don’t want to see part of a castle above the wall, rather wait until I can see the entire castle. Our next trip is April 2013 so I’m hopeful most of the walls will be down by then.

I've looked at a few pics, mostly of the night lighting, but I won't watch videos. I too want to see it firsthand. I don't think we'll make a trip in 2013, but mostly because we're planning on moving to the Tampa area after I transfer at work. It'll be worth skipping a year to live an hour away.

I have avoided most of it on purpose.

It isn't every day...or every decade or two, lol...that we get something brand new in the MK, so I want to experience it as a new thing, like I'm seeing it for the first time. That's how I saw WDW the first time. :) There is something to be said for experiencing Disney without seeing it all ahead of time.

I haven't looked up pics of the Mermaid ride at DL. I don't even look much when I'm in the park. I'm not doing previews. I want to wait until the walls are down and just go see it like its part of the park. :)

I did look up what the Mine Train will be like. After hearing that it would be a kiddie coaster, I had to know. I was disappointed. It is a kiddie coaster.

But I'm eager to see it all.

No! I could not resist. As soon as I saw the link, I wasted no time at all looking at it haha. It's like seeing your really awesome Christmas present early. You regret it because you want it to be a surprise but your happy because it's exactly what you wanted :)

I'm avoiding all videos but I'm ok with looking at photos as long as they aren't of the inside of attractions (i.e. mermaid). Those I skip. I figure it's going to be awhile until I go so at least the area photos etc. can keep me excited about it. I refuse to watch videos though as I think they give away a little more. :D

I've been looking at the pictures posted here and on the blog. I saw pics before my first trip in 2009 and I was still in awe when i saw it in real life. I know I'll still be amazed when I see the FLE.

I've looked at the pictures, and I was going to watch the Little Mermaid ride video, but when I got through the queue I thought to myself, "this is so wrong." Then left the webpage.

I watch all the Disney videos and look at all the Disney pics I can reasonably find time to. I need my Disney fix, and it's never ruined any of the Magic for me.
For me, anyway, it just enhances the Magic, 'cause video and pics can never really, truly, capture it as my real-life experience will be, anyway.

I was the same way..until yesterday. I'm going in January and I also wanted to just see the new expansion first hand. Yeah, that didn't work out too well. Boy I was not strong enough, the pictures are amazing I must say but real life experience will definitely be a different story.

I've looked at some pics when it was earlier on in the process but now I don't because i don't want to ruin the surprise.I used to avoid vids of rides I hadn't been on before too,but I've decided now that If I'm taking my kids on it i better know what I'm in for first lol.
