Avoid HRH with young children!

We spent 2 nights at Hard Rock Hotel last week in between Disney hotels, and I would NOT reccommend staying there with younger children! We had stayed at Royal Pacific years ago and loved it, but we figured we'd stay a 'step up' this time. It was so loud. There was a concert in the lobby at night that shook the walls of the entire hotel. There were also a lot of people smoking in the lobby during the concert. While sitting at the pool with my kids (10,12) there were a bunch of drunk adults in and around the pool. One drunk woman fell on my lap! I pushed her off me onto the ground, and she cussed ME out! We had arrived at the hotel prior to our room being ready, so we checked our bags at bell services. Someone stole several items out of my Mother's suitcase. I will never stay there again. Royal Pacific will be our destination next time we go to Universal! The front of the line 'Express' pass is well worth the cost of the on site hotels!

Sounds like you had a bit of bad time, however, as you mentioned you were staying with younger children did you do any research in advance on the “Hard Rock Brand”and features of the Hotel before booking your stay?

The only reason I mention this is at the end of every month they do usually have a concert in the hotel itself, whilst I agree that the music could be heard when entering the hotel from the lobby or the pool area to the lifts, I had a room on the 2nd floor which was directly above the lobby and could hear nothing at all. Again, I am sure you will appreciate that with Concerts or any event for that matter, you do usually get people congregating in areas smoking.

Regarding the incidents at the pool did you report this to the lifeguards around the area? I would envision they would have been quick to defuse such a situation and if necessary the on-site security would be called.

Regarding the items missing from the luggage, this is a serious allegation and I take it you did inform the hotel management, either Hard Rock or Lowes themselves? – Usually with such incidents they conduct an investigation and contact you once it has been concluded to confirm their findings. Also did you call the police?

I have stayed at Hard Rock twice before and I have never had no problems at all and I hope this continues on my next upcoming visit.

Of all 3 Uni resorts HRH is the most 'liveliest' which is why I wouldn't stay there. I always use the Portofino, its quiet and not overcrowded but I believe it the most expensive.
