Avengers Avenue (Hollywood Studios)

I want to go over my idea for an Avengers Themed land, inside Hollywood Studios. Although Avengers Campus makes more sense being cloned, I think a New York-themed area makes more sense. Both Avengers Campus have been received poorly, and New York is already a popular location inside the MCU.

The current problem is that Disney doesn’t own the theme park rights in Orlando. Universal bought the theme park rights from Marvel when building Islands of Adventure. Currently, Disney has found a loophole, some Super Hero’s and films aren’t in IOA. This is why Disney has Guardians inside EPCOT, and how we are gonna make this work.

If Disney were to open Avengers New York in phases, with the first phase containing characters that aren’t in IOA. Then eventually attractions themed to Iron Man, Captain America, etc.

Now thinking of a location, Hollywood Studios is the obvious answer. It doesn’t fit with the themes of Animal or Magic Kingdom and EPCOT already has Gaurdians. There is a possibility of Wakanda and Asgard going to Animal and Magic, but I’m getting ahead of myself. In Hollywood Studios, I think the perfect location is next to Sunset BLVD.

Currently, we don’t know where Monsters Inc. is going to be, but the most likely answer is Animation Courtyard. Now if it was to be built there. It wouldn’t be able to connect to Rock n’ Roller Coaster making a loop, which means we can add Avengers between these two coasters.

Avengers Avenue: Phase 1
Upon entering the land, you would be greeted with Sister Margaret's Home for Wayward Children. A quick service bar selling drinks and small food items themed after the bar. Not: nothing special but a small detail. I thought about a Deadpool attraction and landed on the perfect idea. Deadpool on Ice would be an Ice show, with Deadpool's style of humor mixed with the elegance of an Ice show. It's such a wacky idea that would make no sense, so it's perfect for Deadpool. It would be a permanent Ice show and would be a nice attraction that doesn't involve an exciting ride.

Further down, a PYM Test Kitchen similar to California Adventure's one, and would be another quick service restaurant. They apply the same methods and sometimes good food as the original. To go along with that, Antman's Quantum Jump would be the first and sadly only ride of Phase 1. This would be a ride similar to Luigi's Rollickin’ Roadsters in California Adventure. You would board re-themed cars called “Quamtum Vehicles” and test out new PYM technology. This would be indoors and have screens around the track and would grow or shrink in size. Giving you the feeling of using the PYM technology. Non-guest vehicles filled with Animatronics could also interact with guests, either being Ant-Man in different sizes or huge ants. There could also be two versions, running at the same time to increase capacity.

Sanctum Sanctorum Experience would start the road to New York, but end because this is Phase 1. The Sanctum would contain a show similar to Alien Encounter. Animatronics and effects would simulate a Monster breaking containment and attacking guests. With Hollywood Studio’s more Thriller audience compared to Magic Kingdom, I think this attraction would be received well. This ends phase 1, a rather smaller opening but it gets better.

Avengers Avenue: Phase 2
Phase 2 would be when Disney starts to buy back or eventually require the theme park rights. This would be a land where it draws a fine line between characters used and not used in IOA.

X-Men is a great example, it doesn’t have a large presence there just some cutouts of them and Disney could just buy it back. X-Men HQ would be a meet and greet space taking place at Xavier’s School for gifted children. There, it would combine effects like Hong Kong’s Avengers Meet and Greet. I could see it being a lot like the Magic Lamp Theater in Disney Seas, using animatronics and effects. The characters you could meet would be Wolverine, Xavier, Deadpool, etc. Stark Expo would be a moving walkway attraction, similar to Villain Con in Universal Studio. I could see the ride not include Iron Man cause of him being in IOA. Instead, this could be run by Pepper Pots and maybe some of the Iron Legion robots. This would be a no-conflict attraction through a Stark Expo. Displaying new technology and modern marvels, utilizing animatronics, screens, and effects.

Swharmha Palace is the first sit-down restaurant and be a regular Swharmha place. Selling more variants than the stalls in Avengers Campus. Although not themed after a character in the MCU, it could add atmosphere and good food to the New York section. The final attraction of Phase 2 would be a big one. You would enter through an abandoned building and shortly after have a pre-show. A TVA agent (cast member) would capture you for disrupting the timeline and take you to the TVA. Now entering the TVA, you would go through booking and the hallways of the building. Now Loki would be included in this ride and Disney could get away with it, claiming that the TVA Loki version is different from the Asgardian leather version seen in IOA. TVA: Attack of the Variants would be a trackless dark ride, now I know a lot of people don’t like Disney’s over-use and under-utilization of trackless dark rides in the parks. But this is a good reason for using it, the trackless vehicles would be TVA-issued Tracking Vehicles. You would help Loki and the TVA track down the variants that are loose in the TVA. You would go around rooms and buildings encountering Loki variants all while trying to contain them. I love the Loki series and I want the Time Variant Authority to come to real life.

Avengers Avenue: Phase 3
Phase 3 is the biggest expansion yet, now at this point Disney would have required the theme park rights to Avengers fully. Opening the door to so many possibilities. Peter Pizza and Banner Taste Labs would add dining options to the land, with Banner Taste Labs being a themed restaurant similar to the PYM Kitchen. Now even though many attractions aren’t “height required” I think adding one that is a dark ride is necessary, and I think Spider-Man is the perfect fit. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna clone W.E.B. slingers. But I have a better idea. The Daily Bugle is considered a location in the MCU, and you would enter through the Newsroom. Guests would play the role of reporters working for Mr. Jameson. He wants you to get the best pictures of Spider-Man possible. You would board elevated trolleys and take off into the city of New York to capture your photo. The trolleys would be fitted with cameras and depending on how good your Spider-Man photos are, you would get points. Now I also wanted to add a limit, 20 seems good mainly because I didn’t want people to spam the capture button and get an insane number of points. Spider-Man: The Daily Scoop! Would take you through New York encountering Spider-Man and the Vulture, in a duel between each other. Screens would mainly be used, but animatronics and 4D effects would be used in the attraction.

Heading down the street, retail stores and stalls would be scattered to offer food and merchandising options. The Captain’s Cantina would be a Captain America-themed Dinner show, with cast members acting out the Rogers musical. Next to it, a large looming Hangar awaits. Inside via pre-show, you would go through a time travel device to take you back to the 1940s. There Captain America would inform you about his new rescue mission behind enemy lines. Captain America: Red Skull Rescue would be a motorbike coaster using the same ride vehicles as Hagrids. Taking you through a similar layout to Tron. You would start with a launch and soar outside through New York, with the buildings around the ride to look like they’re from the 40s. You would soon enter a dark building, where it’s revealed to be the inside of a Paratrooper plane. You would drop out soaring down and rushing through Hydra’s base.

The next section would be a mini-land being themed around Stark Enterprises. I mentioned a Stark Expo attraction earlier and it would be connected but released earlier. A meet and greet area would be offered and Iron Man Legionaries would be stationed via animatronics. Iron Man Armory would be yet another quick service, that's simalar to the Iron Man restaurant in Paris's Avengers Campus. The main attraction of the land would stand at the end of the Stark area, being Iron Man Bionic Blast, this would utilize the Koka arm system seen on Forbidden Journey. The ride would start off taking you through a training simulator until Iron Man’s legionaries start acting up and attacking you. You soon learn it’s the work of Iron Wrath a new villain vowing to mark his name as the most dangerous man in the world. You help Iron Man defeat him and save the day. The ride would be similar to Forbidden Journey, by using a lot of screens real-life sets, and animatronics. Making for a dynamic ride, and going down as a classic for a long time.
