Avatar Land Concept art

Never been to the 'World, but if I ever go, I will make sure that Animal Kingdom is NOT on the itinerary.

If you've never been to WDW, AK is worth a visit at least to form an opinion on it.

I've been more than once, but there wasn't really that much there I liked. Combine that with having nothing new since the Nemo Show began previews in November 2006 and the maintenance flaws on the few rides it does have and you can see why I don't bother with it anymore. I've skipped it on the last 3 trips to WDW (haven't seen it since '07) and will likely continue skipping it until Avatar shows up, or even longer.

If you love AK that doesn't bother me, but for me it (along with DtD and at this point the water parks and mini golf) hold no real interest for me anymore.

You don't like Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon??
And yet you didn't you list WDW's biggest current "Bust"........Hollywood Studios?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU???????????:veryconfu

First, I don't "dislike" the water parks, it's just been so long since I've been to them (either do to lack of time or good weather) that Im just now used to not going. I do however dislike DtD becuase it's worse than just about any shopping mall near my house now. Nothing really special there beyong the Lego store, which on its own isn't worth the trip out there.

I honestly don't see DHS as the biggest "Bust", especially after ST2. It has a number of attractions I like seeing (more than once for some), including arguably the best ride in WDW (ToT):

Tower of Terror
Muppets
One Man's Dream (even if I don't watch the movie I like the exhibits)
Toy Story Midway Mania
Star Tours 2 (which is now worth riding several times)
Rock 'N Roller Coaster
The Great Movie Ride
Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Plus three restaurants I like eating at, the "streetmosphere" characters, certain stores and the setting of Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. It's my second favorite WDW park for these reasons and that it gets regular updates/changes unlike the others (especially AK). Is it perfect? No, but it's far better for me than other WDW options. And it's easy to get to depending upon where you stay on property (like the Epcot hotels or POP)

So now you know: "WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME???????????"

Because its still being finalised and has a tighter lid on it than DACS audio.
"DACS Audio"?
You mean these people? http://www.dacs-audio.com/index.php

No concept art should be expected to the fact Disney didn't have any attractions or anything planned when it was announced in late September.

Exactly. WDI was just as surprised by the announcement as the rest of us.
There hasn't been any concept art released because there may not be any useful concept art yet.

'Mars needs Moms' didn't gross over $2 billion... Avatar did. How would Marvel fit into Animal Kingdom? AK needs the expansion more than anything.

It doens't matter what a movie took in, it matters if they can make something customer and fan friendly that is appealing. I just don't think there's enough from 1 movie to make a whole 'Land' of it. Titanic was the highest box-office grossing movie ever, where's it's 'Land'.

Also, never said 'Marvel Land' should go to AK. HS would be better. And someone else posted they should've used this (Avatar) to expand HS, which I also agree would've made more sense..

Titanic didn't take place on land, therefore it loses its right to get one.

Just like you have a problem with Avatar, I have a problem with so called 'Marvel Land.' The only Marvel movies I enjoyed were both installments of Ironman. The rest, including Spiderman, were forgetful and were created to cash in on the Superhero craze hollywood is going through right now. Additionally, if Disney starts putting spidermans and hulks all over the property, then its just going to be IoA Disney-ized. This is why the Marvel vs. Avatar argument is flawed and why you'll never see a marvel land outside of a recreation of the Stark Expo (which I think would be sweet).

I've seen one Star Wars film, and honestly I hated it. Star Wars isn't my thing. But that doesn't mean I completely avoid Star Tours. In fact, its a stop just about every time I go to DHS. I appreciate what Disney has done to recreate it and I embrace the significance its had to the film-making industry (which is why its such a good fit for DHS).

Avatar will be the same deal as Star Wars. You may not like it but millions of other people did. Additionally, I don't know how you can dismiss Avatar's box office earnings as irrelevant to the conversation. The simple story makes Avatar fan friendly. The imagination and creativity behind the world makes it fan friendly. The ability for the film to make a completely fictitious world appear real enough to touch makes it fan friendly (So realistic that when some people were done watching it they became depressed such a world did not exist http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2010-01-12/news/27594974_1_avatar-forums-suicidal-thoughts-pandora).

The environmental preservation and conservation contained within the film makes it fan friendly (and Animal Kingdom friendly). Everything about this move makes sense to me, and I applaud the WDWR for making this move.

then its just going to be IoA Disney-ized...

Regardless of the franchises being discussed...I have to say, if WDW did a IOA "Disneyized"...tears of joy would be impossible for me to hold back.

I mean, the ingenuity, depth, scale of IOA's rides, matched with Disney theming and "magic"?

My God...a more perfect marriage I could not imagine.

Unfortunately, Disney just doesn't seem willing to try to go that extra mile in attractions these days - it's sad, so sad for me. They haven't built a "gee wow amazing" ride in almost two decades now. :(

I'm sure anyone trolling the internet could find people that need treatment for depression because their Rice Crispies tell them to do bad things.

I've never seen such a non-article in my life, it's all based on a message board for people obsessed. When people whip it out it just goes to show how little there was to talk about Avatar besides "oooh pretty!" - that they were that desperate to make a story out of a bunch of crazies on a message board.
