Newbie here.

Not a huge Disney guy, but was lead here due to this Autopia Car. Apparently only 3 of these cars were known to have left the park as gifts from Walt Disney. My Pops obtained one of the cars & restored it approx. 20 years ago, been in storage ever since. Anyway, his interests have changed & he's looking for the best avenue to sell it, looking for suggestions? Since it's a bit unusual, I don't think putting it on Craigslist will get the best results. He hasn't taken it out of storage, so no current pictures yet.

~ Thanks in advance

Something like that I would look at Sotherby's to put up to auction. If it's that rare they would be able to help appraise it and put it up for sale.

You should probably try a Disneyland-focused website, instead of this Disney World focused site. Autopia is at Disneyland, and Walt only dealt with that version of the ride. Walt had been dead for five years by the time Disney World opened in 1971, and the version of the ride there is called Grand Prix Raceway and they used different bodystyles for the cars with a different theme.

Will do... Thanks for the info. Does anyone have a good Disneyland Site recommendation. I've looked at a few, but they seem oriented towards trips, vacations, etc. I'm looking for one where the forums focus on the history of Disney. ~ Thanks,

I'm sure that although you may not find a buyer on this forum someone can help you out. A lot of people here know the history of Disney. We do have a small Disneyland section that you could post in.

I agree with an earlier poster that perhaps an auction house would be best suited for a situation like this. If you find the right house they will make sure it is put up on a day with other Disney merchandise and they will give you better estimates than anyone here could.

You could do a search for Disneyana websites. Disney collectibles are very wanted, there is a huge market for this sort of stuff. EBay even has a special Disneyana section which you could try.

Personally I am not really into collecting. Maybe a Disneyana fanatic will stop by and share some tips.
