that's a pretty broad question. what type of music files are you thinking of playing? if it's just a midi file, you can embed it into your page using the <bgsound src="yourfile.mid"> tag to start playing when the page loads (although that can be pretty annoying for people who have their speakers set too high) . you can also embed a wav file using the <bgsound> tag, but wav files tend to be huge in size. this is probably the simplest way to embed sound in a page, but certainly not the best. there are many other ways and formats for web sound, but it would take days to type it all out for you here. if your interested, check out the following links, they should give you some help:

I implore you to reconsider the whole automatic sound thing, Josh. This is one of the top mistakes that people new to working on the web make. It doesn't really matter how loud the speakers are, in most cases, the only person who likes it is the person who put it there. Please think carefully on that before you decide to use it. How many sites do you see these days that use that? Are any of them professional sites? Do you enjoy the ones that you do find that do this?

mr p's right. on my website i added music, i thought it was great! ( :( ), my visitors didnt. it makes it hard to concentrate on reading thigs, and if they are playing music themselves it gets a bit annoying. also it slows down the loading of the page:sohappy:

I'm putting it on my drawings page......so theres no reading! I really dont care if I'm the only one that likes the music......I dont care if you dont like my drawings. It's not a professional site but a personal site that expresses who I am and the music is part of that. Soo....:p :D
