Attention Brits

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
As the travel brochures have become available for NEXT summer I have started in ernest to plan my trip. Yes I know its early but based on this summer Im booking early to ensure I get exactly what I want in August.
But the point of my post is that I have just spoken to the Disney Travel Company UK and they say from October this year they will be taking bookings, BUT, they will be doing accomodation only. I was told that they would be offfering exactly the same rooms etc as available on the main website. This means a far greater choice for theUK holiday maker than before and we no longer get ripped off by reduced room occupancy.
It also reduces the risk from exchange rate variations as I will no longer have to book direct to the US. I hope that the price structure will be similar to that offered or as last year a very competative rate. The person I spoke to was a bit reluctant to confirm if they would offer Disney Club discounts etc.
Having gone with the Disney Travel Co I can assure you whilst there admin may be a little ropey there service and helpfulness was top quality.
Besides booking early gives an incentive for over a year particularaly useful during the kids exam time.:)

When I booked my latest trip, I tried the disney travel co and found their service not only a bit lacking but their price was very poor. I actually compiled about 10 quotes for same dates and hotel and theirs was near the bottom, about £250 more than I paid in the end.

My problem is I have a family of 5 so most travel companys offer a limited choice of hotel (contepory tower) or a house.
If the prices you are talking about are this years yes I agree there was a massive jump on last year in my case around £1700 but that was largely due to change from Britania to BA, which is why I was pleased to hear aboutthem doing accom only. If I were to book completely with say Virgin I have to take two rooms and pay adult fare (sorry i get £30 reduction cause there teens) that definately bumps up the price.
As an aside the most helpful company has so far been BA but they cant give me a firm price till next mon.
Like you im shopping around, but I want to avoid Stanford, stay on property, and idealy use only 1 room. Oh and if I can possibly avoid it flying with Air2000.
Ive just been reminded we got a 10% discount from Disney last year thats what helped make them so competative.
No I dont work for them:)

I see your point, the number of people makes things difficult with most companies.
I found Virgin the best deal, but I was only booking for two people.
Have you tried contacting disney directly and explaining what you want to do in terms of accomodation? They are usually quite helpful and then you can just look for flight only deals.

Yes that was my point. As it stood we were having to book via Disney on line at WDW with the slight worry about exchange rates. Now with this change I can book and know excatly what im paying.
I have just tried the Virgin sight and was quoted £11500 for 21 days at the beach club. For some reason the on line booking says contempory is onl 4 per room despite the room description saying 5.
Its funny the offer 2-£300 off for on linebooking then you cant get what you want even when its available. As it stands it looks like Virgin casue there only a bit more than the best deal we can get and there by far the best airline.
Im just tired of being ripped off.
