I, along with my girlfriend and her sister, and her sister's boyfriend, will be in WDW form July 30 until August 3rd. Can anyone tell me about the attendance or approx. line time during this time of the year. I've never been to WDW this time of the year so I don't know what to expext...other than the heat I guess. Thanks a lot!

heat & crowds

Well, ScottieBoy, you've got the heat part correct. Actually, that's an important consideration in the lines question as well, as it's going to be too hot to be waiting outside for long - so fastpass is even more critical than usual. It's also going t to effect where the lines are - SplashMountain sounds so appealing when it's almost 100 degrees, but it does to everyone, so the line might be crazy - that's the kind of attraction I'll ONLY ride with a FP, as I've seen summer lines there in the hour range, or even more.

Actually, even though it's so hot and a time I usually try to stay away, I'll be at WDW the week after you, so I have the same concerns. In the past, I've found summer attendance to be surprisingly high/busy given just how hot & uncomfortable it can be, so expect heavy attendance for the time that you are there - but not "peak" type attendance or waits. Also, keep in mind that the typical summer afternoon thunderstorm can do a lot to clear out a line - or the park, for that matter.

Bottom line - it will be busy, but use the FastPass at every opportunity, take advantage of as much A/C as possible, and have fun!

I'll be in WDW the week after the 4th, and I'm gearing up to do battle with the crowds. I just need a little bit of help though. Does anyone have any suggestions in the order to ride/see attractions? I know if you ride them in the right order, the crowds won't be as bad. If you have any ideas, please post or PM me. Thanks!

It will be hot, and it will be crowded, but that's not to say you can't enjoy yourself and see everything you want to. Try to plan ahead and take advantage of Early Entry, and Fastpass, and don't forget indoor areas are air conditioned. It's also helpful to pack a spray bottle with water to help cool off, even though most of the lines have fans and/or mist machines. A popular tactic is to visit the parks early to mid-day, then take a dip in the resort pool and return in the early evening.
