A Renaissance Man
"Take me out to the ball game...." These seven words have become a symbol of an American past time and they simultaneously represent Joe Cool's first public performance in the spring of 1992; then seven, he sang it during a South Bend White Sox baseball game. He has clearly come far since then. He is an amazing friend to all and an active member of his community due to his incredible talent for changing everyone's lives, his total involvement in music, and extremely effective speaking skills
As anyone who encounters Joe can see, he has a natural affinity toward touching the lives of others, unsurpassed by most. He can simultaneously aid and inspire everyone he meets. Furthermore, he has a great sense of humor, which helps him to break through the shells others build up around themselves, and truly help them with their problems. Joe is a caring individual, willing to be everyone's friend.
Elsewhere in the community, Joe has been known to practice six hours each day to perfect his skills on his saxophone. This devotion sets him above the rest in his community. Other skilled musicians respect Joe's efforts. He is both the first chair in the Lakeshore Symphonic Band and a member of the Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra, LYMO. As a member of LYMO, he is expected to practice every Monday from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Last fall, he was even honored by being involve in the All-Star Band. In addition to these honors, he has a lesson with one of the finest saxophonists in the entire state of Michigan, Mr. Barham. Finally, Joe plays in a duet, a quartet, and an octet. The total of these three groups means multiple after school and weekend practices for Joe. His devotion toward his craft certainly speaks well of his character, and it serves as another way for Joe to be active in his community.
Furthermore, Joe is a well-spoken individual. His ability to help others also lends itself to this quality in Joe, as he can communicate most effectively to all people, regardless of age or ______. He is also a member of the Students Against Destructive Decisions, S.A.D.D., board. As a member, he must make many speeches over the course of the school year, each of which has been successful. Once again, this supports Joe's qualities of being a great friend as well as an active member of his community due to his active membership in S.A.D.D.
Clearly, he is an incredible personality whom anyone would be honored to have as a friend. With such a well-rounded personality, who wouldn't be proud to have this caring individual as a friend? He clearly cares about everyone he meets and makes every attempt to help them; beyond his roll as friend-to-all, he always takes time to involve himself in the community along two fronts: extracurricular clubs and music. He certainly is and will continue to be a positive member of society whom anyone would be honored to know.
