I apologize if this has been posted already, Im on a mobile phone and searches dont work too well.

I was just on Spaceship Earth and all but 1 of the at&t logos has been removed. the only one that remains that I saw was on the first video monitor the boy is looking into. All the ones on the videos themselves are gone though it looks like some have just been couered up.

I thought this already happened a while ago? Hence the decent back down to earth where the old global neighborhood sign was spray painted over a year ago. Then again I could be wrong.

If you looked closely at some of the TV monitors and screens throughout the ride, you could see a small AT&T logo on the bottom of the screen. The obvious AT&T signs were removed first.

Oh ok, that clears things up a little bit for me. Thanks.

Ahh this is good to hear, I do not understand why they did not remove the images from the video footage much sooner, I mean it can't be that hard to remove them from the footage even if they just covered them over with something else.

Also that entire final section with the the people talking to each other through the monitors. Every one of those monitors had the logo embossed on the upper right corner of the frame itself, not just in the video of the monitor.

It's amazing how many little things have to be changed when something like this happens.

Imagine the amount of work they'll have to do over at MGM if a name change takes place. I read a good article about that on one of the major Disney sites a while back (I think Jim Hill's site, not for sure though)

As a matter of fact, before they went and spent the big bucks on spraypaint, they just duct-taped a big ol' piece of cardboard over it.

As you can see from the picture, the video logo has been removed and the "hard" logo is the only one I saw that remained. The other hard logos in the descending section are gone.

Thanks for the picture, I would have thought that hard logo would be one of the first to go, all it would take is either some black tape or a small amount of paint.

SBC has bought AT&T; new logo.

As a side note, SBC will officially be taking over AT&T on Monday, introducing a new logo. Perhaps SBC wanted to old logo removed? Haha, who am i kidding, it's free advertising, but for all of you who are curious, the new logo will be introduced Monday. I went to AT&T's website an am anxious to see the new logo, although I believe it will probably be a disaster - I loved the old AT&T logo.

Side side-note: SBC is keeping the AT&T name, as customers trust it more than SBC. You can read there press release, that's pretty much what it says - SBC is terrible, AT&T is great. Funny thing is, I switched from AT&T's internet service to SBC's internet service a few months ago.

My DH called me yesterday and said as of 3pm cst yesterday he no longer worked for SBC. He paused and then he said he works for AT&T now.

Uh, the reason that the logos are being removed is because Seimens, the European electronics giant now sponsers SSE, as well as about 1/2 of Disney (Illuminations, Osbourne Spectacle of Lights, a part of Innoventions, parades at DLR, etc.). They obviouslly are going to start putting their logos on the ride. No official word yet of any updates to the ride or the old Global Neighborhood at the end. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The removal of the logos happend a long time ago, when at&t dropped their sponsorship. This only seems like news because of Siemens new sponsorship deal. As far as I know, nothing has happend in response to that beside the cleaning out of offices.

Actually, many of the logos remained in the ride itself long after AT&T dropped sponsorship. The only logos that were removed very soon after were the ones at the ride entrance and exit (including the big one above your head just before you turn back around), maps and paperwork, and signage. All the smaller ones such as the ones in videos and on the "video monitors" at the end of the ride were still there until very recently, we're talking like a week. I went on it like a week or two ago and they were DEFINITELY not there.

This happened almost a year ago. This happened way before Siemens ever considered sponsering Epcot. Also, it isn't just the signs and symbols, the entire Global Neighborhood network room is covered up and messages advertising it muted.
