Ok, I am getting really nervous after reading all of the bad reviews on ASMo. We had planned on CBR but 10yo dd decided on ASMo at the last minute (she likes the theming). Should I stick with it or switch to a mod?
My #1 priority is efficient transportation to the parks.:veryconfu

Stick with ASMo I stayed at both and never had a problem with buses with the All Stars, the bus ride home was sooo long for CBR since we stayed at trinidad south and it was the last stop. Also you can be so far from the food court at CBR. If your child likes the themeing better with Movies stay there CBR is beautiful but IMHO its more for adults.

Personally I think all of the transportation gets a bad rap! You will love AsMo. We have been to all levels of the resorts. The past few trips it seems that the value buses run more often (& w/more buses) vs. other resorts. Our worst bus service was from Fort Wilderness Lodge. Sometimes it FEELS like you are waiting for ever and in reality its been less than 10-15 minutes. It is unrealistic to expect Disney to have buses sitting empty waiting for guests all the time. They do a great job getting people where they need to be.

IF there is a problem, go straight to management. Keep track of the date/time/ CM's you spoke with, etc. Last summer we stayed at Movies for 15 nights. We went to the parks, water parks every single day! Out of all those days had only one horrible wait last summer waiting for a bus to TLagoon. Somehow there was a mix up and bus managers were finally called out front...long story short we waited for an hour to get a bus. CM said "bus service is free, if you don't like it, you are welcome to stay at a monorail resort, rent a car or hire a taxi!". At the end of the day I stopped by the front desk w/my complaint. More about the rude remark CM made vs. the long bus wait. I had my own van, but I didn't want the trouble of driving, bus service is a perk they promote! They gave us each a pass good for 4 people for 1 ride of our choice. We made great use of those at TSMania.

14 days til we check in at Boardwalk!!!!!

We stayed at ASMo 4 years ago. While I really thought the larger than life icons were awesome, the bus situation was awful. (This was off-season, 2nd week of December). We were last on the bus, last off. All 3 AllStar resorts shared the same bus. It was extremely packed by the time the bus came to ASMo. ASMo is usually more crowded with families.

However....... we just got back last week from a stay at All Star Sports. Only 1 time did we go to the other 2 resorts. And I think that was on a Sunday. So, maybe during Moderate & Peak times, each resort gets its own bus. We did have extremely long waits at the resort waiting on a bus for various parks. Once we waited 30 minutes for a bus to MK. While we waited on a bus in the parks, it seemed like all the other resorts had more frequent buses and the AllStars were few & far between.

My choice is to try other resorts first, then if necessary, a value.

Value & moderate resorts share busses in the "off season"/ midday.
You should be fine at ASMo...I'd stay there in a heartbeat:sohappy:

Think for yourselfer
If money is not an issue, switch. You can thank me later, the all stars are a nightmare compared to the mods. I know a lot of people like them because they offer such a great price to be staying in the world. But the mods are on such a different level. Do yourself a favor and upgrade, you will love it.

I have found transportation to be about the same at value/moderate. Similar wait times, crowding issues, etc. The main reason I try to stay at moderates is because I find their pool areas much better. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time at the resort, I would stick with what you have. If the price difference isn't much of an issue and your child is big on the swimming pools, I would do the upgrade. For transportation though, no.
