I thought I would turn to the members of my favorite online community for some help (okay, I don't post here much, but I love reading trip reports, checking on news, and browsing the Picture of the Day threads).
I am a theatrical set designer and I'm going to give a presentation at an upcoming conference. I thought it would be fun to use WDW as the theme for my talk. My basic idea is to discuss how designers use the principles and elements of art to help tell a story. I'd like to hear your suggestions, your favorite parts of WDW that exemplify the principles and elements of design. It could be anything, an attraction, a restaurant, a hotel, costumes, etc.
Here are the Elements of Design:
Form
Line
Shape
Color
Texture
Space
Value
Here are the Principles of Design:
Emphasis
Balance
Harmony
Variety
Movement
Rhythm
Proportion
Unity
One example that I'm already planning on using is how Mainstreet uses proportion (through forced perspective) to make the building look taller than they actually are.
Thanks in advance for your help!
