Trip Report Ask and a bad day will get your way Trip Report Labor Day Weekend 2013

Ok so here I go with my first trip report. Please be kind
Starring in my report is ME!
Maggie a late in life Disney-crazed fanatic!
And DH Greg – my knight in shining armor and Resident Prince Charming.

This is our second trip, our first trip was in the last week of October in 2012 and it was magical and amazing and all those good things. I couldn’t wait to get back, we promptly decided we have to go again and started planning to return in 2014. However, I received an email about room rate discounts, and for a week I relentlessly begged my husband please, please, please. He said no, we really can’t right now. I pouted and moved on. That was on a Sunday, come Monday DH had a horrible day and by lunch he called me and said "OK, let’s do it!" and by that afternoon we were booked for August 29 through September 2 and we had 56 days until our trip!
WHOOP! WHOOP!

Anyways, I put in for vacation at work, and since all the adults I work with are jaded and horrible and don’t get the joy of Disney, and tease me for having gone once before without kids, I said "Beach Weekend!!"
The night before we left DH finally packed – I had been packed for weeks because of the excitement we are going back, DH and I talked about how horrible that nights sleep would be, surprisingly enough I slept like a rock and when the alarm went off at 4:30 to get to the airport I was up, rested and ready!

Our flight was at 6:00 am and after a layover in ATL we arrived at MCO and headed to these babies.

Now let me stop here and say, our first trip we drove, it was long but we got to stop to see family for a night both ways. I was worried about the ME, the ease of having someone else get your luggage seemed to good to be true… and I can honestly say we will never NOT fly and use this service! So easy and really it starts your vacation right when you land.

We made it!

Ahh! Home for the next few days, we have returned!!

We had magic bands and kttw, I was skeptical on the bands, in the communities I ‘creeped’ (exhibit a: this site where I was too nervous to join) there was a lot of nerves and worries and it rubbed off on me. But they were easy and we were lucky and had no problems. Phhewww!!
What has become our ‘tradition’ (if you can call it that after only 2 times) is Downtown Disney and Fulton’s Crab House, well this trip we decided we should make that our first night in The World tradition. So happy to be back!

EPCOT DAY - FRIDAY - August 30, 2013
DSC03787.JPG

Up and Early on our first full day in the Happiest Place on Earth, we were off to EPCOT
After waiting for the park to open and standing in line behind some really "lovely" people and when I say lovely I mean, the son at least 18 was cussing out his sister at least 16 and mom while the dad stood there ignoring it! Seriously!? this would be the first of 2 unhappy happy families...

When we came in 2012 – Test Track was under refurbishment – this time we were determined to ride it. We FP’d Soarin’ and Test Track but we wanted to ride both as many times as we can. I know I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I enjoyed TT the making the car part was neat, I let DH do that.
We had time before our FP for Soarin’ so we walked around and enjoyed the fountains and MouseGears!

We did the Character Spot this time, I didn’t know if we would get to meet Mickey and Minnie at MK since we were on a tight schedule.

After our customary Fish and Chips we were off to World Showcase.
We haven’t ever really gone into France, and this year wasn’t any different, it was warm enough that the perfume smell was strong and we could smell it from the fountain so we just passed on by. I know I am missing so awesome-ness in there but, maybe when we go next it will be cooler and not so overwhelmingly floral!
Then through Morocco.
Japan! I simply love Japan, I love the architecture the smell (I can’t explain it) And off we went to Pick-a-Pearl I asked DH to pay for one so I can look at which hairy nasty oyster I wanted… he came back and had got me 2! I got a beautiful white-pink pearl and a blue pearl! OOOhhhh, Ahhhhhh! I chose Cinderella’s Carriage for my blue pearl, I couldn’t bear the thought of damaging the pearl. And then a ‘hanger’ for the white-pink pearl, that one matches the one I put on a ring last year. But the pearl popped off, my darling niece plopped in her car seat funny with my hand under her and there it went. It isn’t damaged I just don’t know what glue I can use to fix it! (looking for a suggestion)

And off to the American Adventure. I love this pavilion, but I do feel, it may be lacking something, I just can’t put my finger on it!
We then went through the next few Pavilions, and enjoyed the smells and people, we love people watching.
China this was the first time we watched the China Circle Vision and did the Terra Cotta Army exhibit, DH loved that, and was bummed we didn’t do it last year, but planned on always going back. Soon we met our first "Princess" but she is a mighty warrior Mulan, and ever so gracious!

Then to Norway, Frozen hadn't happened yet, so we didn't get to meet the princesses, Mexico doesn't really do much for me so we really passed through there without much of anything...

The clouds and wind had us worried Snow White wouldn’t come to say hello, she is my mom’s absolute fave so I always get a pick and send her a text with it to let her know we are ok and alive.

Then on to dinner, we went back to the American Adventure to eat, last year it was delicious and really hit the spot. This time however, it just wasn’t so great, the food was kind of cold and there was an obnoxious group at twenty-somethings cursing and acting so tacky, the weird part was they had little kids with them. Watch your language, if not for the people around you, for the kids at your table. We ate a little more and left, rolling our eyes and very bummed.
We walked around a little more and by then we were trying to decide, to stay for Illuminations or not? We were beat, the heat of this trip was taking the toll on us both. And we are from TEXAS so we KNOW HOT, but I think it was the humidity more than anything, so oppressive! We decided to head back and get a goodnight sleep, this became the theme, no late nights for us, so we can really enjoy the days…

Good-bye EPCOT! until we meet again~
