So, I sometimes go on long times not posting or replying here because, well, life. As of October last year, I was given early retirement from TWDC. After 13 years, eh. And I really realised something. Given I'm in a new job, new surroundings, it gives me time to ponder.
I've been going to WDW since I was young. I mean, really young. I got to see EPCOT open, I was there at the opening of MGM, and I was there opening weekend for DAK. I've seen rides concept, construction, open, and close. I've seen a much loved Studio Tour go from being a thing you could spend the day you do, to something no one even knows was there. I've seen a ball invaded by a horrid wand and get restored. And somehow I survived.
But I guess the thing I wanted to open this up to is us "old timers" and get started on memories we have of things LONG gone, that to us still seem right there. One thing I've been doing lately is riding SSE while listening to the Walter Cronkite audio. I close my eyes and it's like I'm back. Or, what drive my SO nuts, is calling LS Seabase Alpha and wishing we could ride the Sea-cabs into it instead. (Though, I get her a whip and it's all forgotten... ah Dolewhip... where would I be without your magic...) Though, she has her own thing about Wonders of Life. Body Wars is where we met. She was an operator there in 2005 and I was just getting off working my shift in Costuming. I walked over there to get a ride while I could, and she and I just started chatting. After that, it's been us off and on, with the wedding finally this September.
So, for her, sneaking over to see the building was a major thing for her. That's where we started and to her, that's special. But, one thing we both share is our love of the past and embrace of the future. While, I hate Frozen, what's to say many didn't think the same of when Mermaid came to Studios. While I miss the old theater show in GMR, the new one might make more people ask what those films they saw were.
Please share some memories and let's not forget somethings about our parks. They maybe gone, but to some, they are never forgotten.

P.S.: I still do not regret my EPCOT Centre tattoo. People still ask what the symbols are and I am more than happy to tell them!
