Haven't even taken my trip this year yet (64 days!), and I'm already itching to book another trip this November (6th-11th) to hopefully see some of the Christmas decor. I found a room at Art of Animation (Little Mermaid room) for 5 nights for $1,300 with 4 day park and Disney Dining. Just me. What do you all think of the hotel? Good deal?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
The resorts will not be decorated yet at that time but MK will be. HS used to be too for Osborne Lights by that time but now that is no longer. Also the MVMCP should start during your dates. The resorts usually are not decorated (like Grand Floridians gingerbread house etc) until 16-21ish each year give or take right before Thanksgiving is usually all done. The Christmas events mostly don't start until the week of Thanksgiving and some there week after Thanksgiving. So those dates you will not see all the wonderful Christmas decorations and offerings yet. But you would catch the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and MVMCP for certain. So I'm not sure how much you will want to experience so it's something to think about.
Our favorite time to enjoy all Christmas decorations and events is the first few weeks of December. :)

Good to know. Thank you! I'll be able to move my trip to December, if I go. I was listening to the WDW Radio podcast, and I may have misheard the dates he said were best for Christmas decor minus large crowds.

Your very welcome!!
They may have said those dates but not everything is out by then, and you would miss things like the Candlelight Processional and Holidays around the World at Epcot, Gingerbread displays & goodies at Grand Floridian, Contemporary, The Boardwalk, and several others. If you only want to see A few areas/parks decorated and aren't interested in the other offerings besides MVMCP then yes early November would be great. Also Food & Wine is fun too. Those dates would be the second to last week of Food & Wine. So really it's all what you want as a family to experience. I just didn't want you to go that time and expect to
See all the Christmas offerings and then be disappointed. :)

I was at wdw this past November 5-13th and the mk was pretty much fully decorated and as said the lights at studios were up but they are no more. As for the resorts, the GF ginger bread house was well into construction and was opening a few days after I left. It looked al last complete but was cool to see it being made. The Contemporary was also finishing up the ginger display as well. As for the other resorts I have no clue. I stayed at Riverside which was putting up decorations the last few days I was there. As for AoA it's a very nice resort, still fairly new. The food court is great I love the build your own pasta selections.
