Arriving late at night--Magical express question

We have a late flight arriving in Orlando at 11:30 pm..Has anyone had any problems arriving and checking in this late? We have guaranteed connecting rooms and I am worried this may be a problem checking in so late. Plus, does ME still take so long to get your luggage at that time--or will it possibly be even longer since the staffing may be less? I will probably pack an overnight bag and pick it up ourselves then have the rest of the luggage delivered. I was really hoping and expecting to be able to get an earlier flight but now it is not looking to good. Thanks for any info:wave: !

Sorry for the thread bump...

I'll be landing at MCO around 9:30pm and was just wondering if you can still use DME while grabbing your own luggage? I'm going to want to hit AS:S and immediately go to bed to be refreshed for the next day. Rather than wait up to 3 hours for my luggage, I'd prefer to grab it myself and bring it on the bus.

Thanks in advance!
Please keep in mind that if you get your own bags, you will very likely delay your own arrival at your resort. If you have to go to baggage claim and wait there for your bags, and then drag your bags towards DME, chances are that the next available bus to your resort already left, and you'll have to wait for the next one.

In my way of thinking, if I arrive late at night, my top priority is to get to bed ASAP (as well as to get my kids to bed ASAP). I don't want to unnecessarily delay myself by detouring to baggage claim. I always pack our carry-ons for the first 24 hours just in case the AIRLINE delays our luggage. Therefore, we have nighttime stuff (PJs, allowable toiletries, kids' bedtime buddies) plus a change of clothes for the morning. As a result, I really don't care when the bags arrive.

I can't imagine the nightmare scenario of waiting at the airport for my bags late at night, having no carry-on with me, and then finding out my bags never got flown to MCO by my airline. I'd be late getting to my resort (because I had to wait in line at my airline's baggage office to file a claim), and I'd be waking up in the clothes I flew in.

Just a thought or two ....
