'Around the World at Epcot Tour' on a Segway!!

"Experience Epcot on a Segway With the 'Around the World at Epcot' Tour

Epcot is introducing an exciting new experience for clients. The new Around the World at Epcot® tour begins Feb. 14, and offers a tour of World Showcase while maneuvering on a SegwayTM Human Transporter. The Segway is a motorized self-balancing, personal transportation device, recognized by Popular Science in 2002 as the "Best of What's New in Technology."

Around the World at Epcot is offered seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and costs $80 per person, plus tax. A 15% discount is offered to AAA members, Disney Vacation Club owners, Disney theme park annual and seasonal pass holders and Disney's Visa card members.

Each tour has a capacity of 10 people and must be pre-booked by calling 407-WDW-TOUR. The experience is available for clients at least 16 years of age, with a maximum weight limit of 250 lbs. Participants are asked to sign a waiver and children ages 16 and 17 will need to have a guardian sign for them. Helmets are provided and, incase of inclement weather, the experience may be shortened to a one hour inside-only tour at a 50% discount."


Count me in!!! That sounds like alot of fun!!!

Thank you for looking out for me wdwprincess03...since Mr. Know-it-all (Woody-13)was quick to find my past post...he failed to remember that WS IS CLOSED during those hours! Nice try on the bashing....but better luck next time.....what...did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?! Whats up with that!

Also, if you READ the info...only 10 segways will be on the tour....hardly enough to ankle bash guests who are NOT allowed in WS during those times.

Hi!:wave: Sorry you took offense to my post. I put a post up about the Segway Around the World Showcase back in early February. I think it's great too! The first hour of the tour is spent in training and the second hour (weather permitting) is spent "Segwaying" around the world showcase.

If the weather is bad (raining) they cut the tour in half and you are confined to the indoor training area. However, you don't pay the full price of $80.00 in that case. It sure looks like a lot of fun and I hope you get the opportunity to participate!

OH! I beg YOUR pardon. .... I misunderstood the lol: ) as a mock. No biggy.....I just thought using segways at Disney under closed conditions would be just great! One, for just zipping though Epcot when no one is there and TWO for using a SEGWAY! :sohappy:

Wow they finally did it...

The guy told us he was working on letting them do the world showcase tour for guest but didn't want us to say anything to guest in case they would not let him

never said anything about a segway but them things are fun...
I got to ride one during the MK cast celebration last year.

I doubt that I'll ever do this tour.

I know myself too well...and if I really enjoyed riding one of those Segways then I would be like that girl in the Movie WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCLATE FACTORY who said " Daddy...I WANT AN OOMPA LOOMPA!!!" :lol:

Seriously...if I enjoyed riding the Segway as much as I think I would...when I got home I would really really want to buy one.

I'm one of those people who if I want something bad enough, I FIND a way to get it.
