i was wondering does anyone know if they have the ride in place, or if that still all needs to be installed..... just curious
The ride system has been installed for a while now.. They probably still have some cosmetic stuff to do inside, and still tune in the ride system but it is in place.
cool didnt know that....i am just looking at all the progress and wondering what is left.... things are starting to look pretty good....i doubt they will be ahead of schedule... and i think that much of the delay will stem from the mine coaster (this is due to them needing access to it....i am guessing like somepeople have hinted that they will want to get as much as possible done before they open up the other areas).
So with the ride complete.... the outdoors nearing completion... and the beast area looking ...welll....beastly. I am wondering what they have left....paving? some cosmetic work?
Based on the last aerial views from April and the over the wall photos here are the thing I can spot that still need to be done:
- Castle walls (these still have quite a ways to go)
- Paving everywhere
- Bridge the Belle's village still needs to be finished
- Lining of the water features
- Gaston's statue
- Roofs on the some of the village buildings still need to be complete.
- They have just started framing out some new structures at the at the end of the bridge to Be Our Guest.
- There is some new rock-work going in up on the side of the BatB building
- Landscaping
- There is still scafolding at Prince Eric's Castle.
- Still scaffolding at the round building at the back of Belle's village.
Late this year. "Holidays 2012" is the very vague reference they gave. I'm guessing that won't be before Thanksgiving at the earliest. When is the ride expected to be completed?
Depends on definition of Holidays. Holidays 2012 could include Halloween, you never know.Late this year. "Holidays 2012" is the very vague reference they gave. I'm guessing that won't be before Thanksgiving at the earliest.
Yeah...haha, I did think of that and know it could be Halloween. But come on, at the rate they seem to building things (seriously, I think my Grandmother could build faster than Disney Imagineering) I can't imagine it will be ready before Thanksgiving. I won't even be surprised if its not til Christmas. And sorry, I should have specified...they have said "late Holidays 2012"...Halloween just doesn't strike me as late 2012Depends on definition of Holidays. I mean realistically what needs to be done that couldn't be finished in 3 months for a soft open. I really am starting to think fall may be a slight possibility I just saw a "over the wall" of the castle walls and they are back on them and paving for the area really could be done iin a week and all the scaffolding is down for the most part.Yeah...haha, I did think of that and know it could be Halloween. This is very true but they do seem to do things in burstsOh I'm not arguing that there isn't anything that couldn't be realistically done in three months...I just don't have great confidence in their building speed The chances that they could get all the paving done are...low...even though they could. I mean, it's not like that Dwarf Mine Train Ride should take another year and a half to complete and yet it will. I'm mainly though just going off their claims of "late 2012." If they open earlier, that would be great (and greatly surprise me) but I'm not optimistic.
Yeah unfortunately it could also mean New Years Eve!Depends on definition of Holidays. Holidays 2012 could include Halloween, you never know.
That was one ride..... this is an entire area that most possibly is being held up by the mine coaster. I am guessing once they get the skeleton of mine coaster up they can start looking at paving between that and ariels ride. The bridge by ariels that leads to the circus area prolly wont be open till the coaster is nearing completion. They really could rope off the areas. I will say once they start the paving that generally means things are near wraps on any construction i have witnessed. Mainly because they dont want heavy cranes or trucks destoying it. I am def not in the construction industry but it does always seem to be last. However i do agree with not holding your breath i dont think its going to happen till end of summer if we are luckyI won't hold my breath. The one & only time we were ever surprised with an early and unannounced opening was the Rockin' Roller Coaster. We walked over to get a look at the outside cuz it was supposedly be closed until later in the week when they had a grand opening scheduled for the Media with Aerosmith making the 'maiden voyage' on the coaster along with some lucky local radio station fans who won a contest. After they rode the coaster, they performed outside the attraction. As we got closer to take some pics, the fast pass machines were covered, winding lines were roped off, but we saw a handful of people going straight in the door so we followed & thought we'd get pics of the inside. It wasn't until we were inside that we realized they had opened the ride but weren't advertising it was open. No line wait times or cast members outside guiding people in. And the board showed it wasn't open. So my brother & I rode RNRC that afternoon at least a dozen times IN A ROW! It was so awesome! And a RARE occasion that is not likely to repeat itself, esp not for me! I have terrible luck! Had it not been for my brother, I never would've been lucky enough to stumble on that gem of an opportunity!
