Does anyone know if this ride is going to be similar to the old ride, "20,0000 leagues under the sea?" The aerial (no pun intended), view I saw looks very similar. We're going in November and hopeful we will be able to try it out. Thanks.

No, the ride is a copy of The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney California adventure, although the outside of the ride building and queue will be different.

nope, the ride is not going to be "litterally underwater" it will be an illusion. the theme is little mermaid, and the vehicles are clam mobiles similar to the nemo ride at epcot. 20k was a submarine that semi submerged underwater and pulled along a track to view different scenes from the movie and novel. there is a ride at disneyland under the sea with nemo and friends that is 20k redone. they took the old ride, refurbed, and changed the theme. hope this helps :)

It would have been even better had they gone with the original plan that had the clam vehicles hang from an overhead track like Pan. To see it check it out on the platinum mermaid dvd.

Agreed.

They had to go with a high ride capacity ride in DCA because so many of the rides you have to wait around for 45 minutes for a short trip on a Ferris Wheel, or something like that. It is good the ride can move a lot of people, but it lacks the intimacy of other dark rides, and a clam vehicle's roof would have at least hidden the awkwardly placed show lights.
