Ariel and Hercules are cousins!

I just found this:

According to Greek mythology, Ariel’s father, King Triton, is the son of Poseidon, which would make the sea god Ariel’s grandfather. Poseidon’s brother Zeus is the father of Hercules, so Herc and Triton are first cousins. The child of your first cousin is your first cousin once removed, therefore Hercules and Ariel are first cousins once removed.

I love the Ariel/Hurcules thing. Would have made for a great cross over in their cartoons, lol

As for Ursula, I think that was part of the original concept for The Little Mermaid, but they never expanded on that. I also would not like it if that were true considering everyone is a mermaid and Ursula is an octopus.

And I guess that would mean Morgana would also be Ariel's Aunt, lol

Yea, I haven't had a chance to see the show. But I know they expanded on a lot of things they had to cut for time in the film. That's the benefit of getting a 3 hour Broadway show. Shame it didn't do as well as they wanted.
