Here's an old triva question dating back to 1989. Who sang the 'Are you ready for the Magic' song at the beginning of the MGM Grand Opening Celebration that was on TV?

For extra credit, who was the host of the show?

Good question!

I could go whip out the tape and take a glance, but I won't.

I know it was hosted by the late and great John Ritter.

The singer.... he was African-American...can't pick out a face...Smokey Robinson?

Excellent job kevlightyear. Do you remember who introduced the Indiana Jones Attraction?

She was one of Charlie's angels...let's see if I can remember her name....Kate Jackson I think it was.

And there was a man with her....can't remember who though.

Well then my google search tells me that was John Forsythe.

Here's one for you...

Who performed at the end of the show?

[I can think of two musical acts]

damn. I'm having a memory block. I can't recall the ending of the show. But if you give me a hint, I think I can get it.

Well I can remember one group, and one singer. It was a trio, and a country star.

Of course, it's been years since I've watched it, so I could be wrong...

wait I remember Buster Poindexter sung a song and was it Willie Nelson? It's all coming back to me now. Ann Miller did a dance number on the NY Street.

Willie Nelson sang, yes!

The other one I remember is the Pointer Sisters sang a song or two.

I had forgotten about the whole number on NY Street, though!

I don't think it was the Pointer Sisters. Wasn't it that African-American man and woman team who sang 'Summer in the City' on the NYC Street. And they were all pretending to be sweating.

Yeah, but that was a separate number. Willie Nelson (along with the Pointer Sisters, I believe) sang on a separate stage. I even vaguely remember George Burns performing there, too, but now I might be mixing two different things.
