Are WDW CM's a good source or rumors. I mean rumors, NOT INFORMATION.

If you choose to vote in the thread, I would like to see your reasoning behind your answer.

I'll start.

NO. Most CM's don't have access to the resources to know whats going on. Also, most CM's have NO SAY in what's going on. I'm one of the few that has any difference in that

no way....they spread false rumors more than any other type of people...they even know they arnt told "real news" but decide to share it anyway..

CM's are definetly a great source for RUMORS... and most often, false rumors at that. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "Well, the other monorail pilot told me that they were expanding the system and new trains were on order and it will all be done by next year and the trains can go 274 mph and......." So... yeah... CM's can be a source for rumors.

As for information... Sometimes... but like MKTiggerman said... most CM's really don't have access to reliable information... and the little information they do get... often gets exaggerated, twisted, contorted to however they want it to be.

IMO CM's are a great source of rumours, because there are always loads of rumours "doing the rounds", which they always share. Whether the rumours are true or not, is another matter

Within any company rumors are to be found. Most rumors have only a grain of truth. More often then not those rumors are based on partial knowledge or "someone heard" or "My friend says", These are almost always 90% inncorrect. I think CM's are a good source of Disney rumors, but I think most are riddeled with inaccuracies and only partial truths. I base this belief on common sense, a lifelong interest in Disney and the fact that I have worked with some of the proffesional facilities people at Disney as an outside consultant.

They informed me that rumors are a problem at Disney and that the proffesional staff, facilities, purchasing, management, etc. avoid them. No matter what, company Rumors can be a bad thing.

People should take the Rumors section as 95% fun and entertainment and maybe, ... maybe 5% truth.

They do have access to rumors, but there guesses at things are as good as ours. Unless they are an Imagineer who works on the project they know no more than the everyday visitor. And the Imagineers will die before they give up secrets.

I actually think their guesses are sometimes better than the average guest. They can be more fun and inspired, but they are just not really true. They should make you smile. Do not make your reservations based on them.

I have heard from my contacts and LA friends that the next Disney Theme Park in the US will be based on Music and Theater. It has been such a large part of Disney.

I like to cruise the different boards and sift through the rumors. Do I think they are good sources for rumors? Yes, only because they might be able to put a different spin on a rumor. Are they reliable? That wasn't your question and I'd probably say no.

CMs are good to have on the boards..or so I think....they know a lot on the parks...and can answer ur question easily......when it comes to rumors......I don't think ne one can prove them or be trusted with them....not even CMS!

Yes, for rumors, true or false. After all, it's all those rumors that keep the interest and the information going.

Okay, I'm not saying anything new here but you asked for my input. I think cast members, having been one and going back soon, are a great source for RUMORS! Rumors do not have to be true to be rumors. I think the "info" from CM is great even though most of it is false. It keeps those of us who are far away hoping and guessing and inthralled. I check these boards every day looking for new rumors. After reading them I decide whether they're true or not. But like it was said earlier, it's great entertainment.:hammer:

Actually, I feel CMs are the best source for rumors. 99% of them aren't true though. You always get the best rumors and most widespread rumors from the CM.
